DoubleTree by Hilton Zhengzhou East FF&E

    Project Overview

The DoubleTree by Hilton Zhengzhou East opens on 31 July 2025 as one of the most strategically positioned high-end business hotels in central China — occupying a prime address on Shunyi Street, Golden Water District, directly adjacent to the east plaza of Zhengzhou East High-Speed Rail Station, the nation’s largest high-speed rail hub. Zhobai Hotel Furniture was engaged as the exclusive FF&E partner for this 280-room property, supplying and installing the complete furniture programme across all guest-facing spaces: lobby, guestrooms, dining venues, meeting and banquet facilities, and the third-floor recreation level. The project represents one of our most elaborate engagements with a Hilton-brand opening in Central China, and the first time Zhobai has furnished a property designed by PLD — the Hong Kong practice of Liu Bo, whose Song Dynasty-inspired new Chinese aesthetic gave this project its singular design character.

The Song Dynasty (宋式) light-luxury concept that defines the DoubleTree Zhengzhou East is not a decorative choice but a philosophical one. Song-period Chinese aesthetics — restraint, natural material honesty, ink-wash tonal range, and the subordination of ornament to proportion — translate with remarkable precision into the idiom of contemporary luxury hospitality. For Zhobai’s design and production team, working to this brief meant sourcing materials that carry genuine cultural weight: stone finishes that reference celadon glaze, timber species with the warm grey undertones of aged scholar’s wood, and textile weaves drawn from Song silk traditions. Every furniture piece we produced for this hotel is legible within that framework without being literal or costume-like — contemporary in execution, Chinese in soul.

    Lobby and Arrival Spaces

The lobby of DoubleTree Zhengzhou East is among the most architecturally considered arrival environments Zhobai has furnished in recent years. The design uses a monumental feature wall — a digital scenic installation depicting ink-wash landscapes of the Yellow River and Song-era architectural motifs — as the focal point that orientates every furniture arrangement in the public ground floor. Zhobai’s lobby FF&E programme was developed in direct response to this wall, with furniture pieces positioned as frames for the installation rather than autonomous objects competing with it.

Lobby central sight wall lounge at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The lobby’s central lounge is oriented toward the feature scenic wall; Zhobai positioned a pair of bespoke curved sofas in a warm celadon-toned velvet as the primary seating anchor, their arched backs referencing the rounded window forms of Song-era architecture.
Lobby reception counter area at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The reception counter — a Zhobai millwork fabrication in a warm grey stone-effect laminate with brushed bronze hardware — extends over six metres to accommodate four simultaneous check-in positions for the high-volume transit guests arriving from Zhengzhou East Station.
Lobby sofa waiting lounge at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The lobby waiting lounge uses Zhobai’s modular sofa system in a warm sand-and-slate palette, with occasional tables in a honed grey marble — a material that carries the celadon-tone reference throughout the public floor programme.
Lobby corner sofa casual lounge at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The corner sofa lounge zone provides an intimate enclosure within the open lobby — Zhobai’s L-configuration sofa modules in a warm terracotta bouclé create a visual separation from the main circulation without requiring physical partitioning.
Lobby deep corridor passageway at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The lobby corridor connecting the arrival zone to the lift lobby: Zhobai specified a continuous wall-mounted console run in smoked oak, with coordinated artwork lighting brackets and floor-level plinth units that maintain the Song-era tonal language through the transition space.
Lobby sight corridor and secondary entrance at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The secondary entrance corridor leading from the hotel’s street-level access point; Zhobai supplied a bespoke welcome console table in dark walnut with a honed stone surface — positioned as the first furniture encounter for guests entering via this route.
Lobby business manager office at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The business manager’s office adjacent to the lobby: Zhobai supplied the desk unit, executive chair, and visitor seating in the same warm material palette as the public lobby, ensuring visual continuity between the guest-facing and staff-facing spaces at ground level.

The reception counter at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East is the lobby’s single most important FF&E piece by both functional and symbolic measure. Located directly opposite the hotel’s main entrance — facing the axis from Zhengzhou East Station’s east plaza — the counter is the first furniture element every arriving guest encounters. Zhobai designed it as a low, horizon-line piece: 900 mm in height rather than the 1,050 mm conventional in Chinese hotel lobbies, a deliberate decision to maintain visual connectivity between the guest standing at check-in and the scenic feature wall beyond. The counter surface in honed white marble provides the brightness required by Hilton’s brand lighting standards, while the body cladding in a warm grey stone-effect laminate with horizontal grain — referencing the striated sediment layers of the Yellow River karst — grounds the counter in its Central China context.

Guestrooms: 280 Keys Across Five Room Categories

The 280 guestrooms and suites at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East occupy floors three through seventeen, with all rooms benefiting from floor-to-ceiling glazing and views across either the Zhengzhou cityscape or the Qili River (七里河) water corridor that runs adjacent to the property. Hilton’s DoubleTree brand carries specific FF&E standards — the Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree bed specification, in particular, is non-negotiable — and Zhobai’s project team worked directly with Hilton’s Asia-Pacific architecture and construction team to obtain brand approval for all custom pieces before fabrication commenced. The Song-era aesthetic was introduced through material and proportional decisions that comply with brand standards while distinctly exceeding their minimum requirements.

Standard Twin entry hall bedroom at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The standard twin room’s entry hall: Zhobai’s mirrored wardrobe door system with recessed push-to-open handles maximises the perceived width of the entry zone, while the warm oak-toned laminate on the wardrobe doors introduces the room’s material identity at first glance.
Deluxe King cityview guestroom at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The Deluxe King Cityview guestroom: Zhobai’s platform bed base in a warm walnut tone, bespoke headboard in a structured ivory linen, and matching bedside table pair establish the room’s furniture language — restrained, contemporary, and unmistakably rooted in Song-era proportional discipline.
Deluxe Twin cityview guestroom at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The Deluxe Twin configuration uses the same headboard panel system as the king room, adapted to two single-bed positions; Zhobai’s central luggage bench serves as both a physical divider between the two sleeping zones and a practical surface for guest use.
Lake view King room with bathtub at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The Qili River view King room features an in-room soaking tub positioned to face the floor-to-ceiling riverside window — Zhobai supplied the teak bath bridge, stone-top side table, and full accessory programme in a coordinated brushed bronze finish.
High-floor King bedroom with night city view at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
A high-floor King room at night, with Zhengzhou’s east district skyline as backdrop: Zhobai’s motorised blackout curtain system — paired with a sheer voile inner layer — allows guests to modulate the city light view without leaving the bed.

The headboard is the room’s defining furniture piece, and Zhobai invested considerable design effort in developing a form that works across all room categories while adapting to each tier’s proportional requirements. The standard headboard is an arched panel in a structured ivory linen, 1,300 mm tall — the arch referencing the rounded windows of Song-era pavilion architecture that run as a visual motif through PLD’s design. In executive-floor rooms, the headboard height increases to 1,500 mm and the fabric transitions to a more textured silk-mix weave, creating a perceptible quality distinction without departing from the shared design language. Suite headboards are fully upholstered panels spanning the full wall width behind the bed — a configuration that transforms the bed wall into an architectural statement rather than a piece of furniture.

The Qili River view rooms required a specific furniture adaptation: with the river prospect as the room’s primary asset, Zhobai specified lower-profile occasional seating — a 420-mm seat-height lounge chair rather than the standard 450-mm model — positioned at the window to maintain unobstructed sightlines from the bed to the glass. In rooms with the in-room soaking tub, the tub is positioned on a low stone plinth aligned with the window axis, and Zhobai’s teak bath bridge and bronze accessory programme were specified to sit visually within the room’s palette rather than appearing as imported bathroom catalogue items.

Dining: Two Signature Restaurants and the Lobby Lounge

    Qu — All-Day Dining Restaurant

The ground-floor Qu Restaurant is DoubleTree Zhengzhou East’s primary dining venue — a full-service all-day space that opens at 6:30 AM for the mixed Chinese-and-Western breakfast buffet, transitions to à la carte service through the day, and hosts a seafood buffet dinner programme that has already established itself as a leisure dining destination in the Zhengzhou East district. With floor-to-ceiling windows on the garden-facing elevation, the restaurant’s design prioritises the connection between the interior dining environment and the outdoor landscape — a priority that shaped Zhobai’s furniture specification from the outset.

All-day dining window zone at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The window dining zone in the Qu Restaurant: Zhobai specified two-top and four-top tables in a warm ash veneer positioned to maximise window-facing seats, paired with upholstered dining chairs in a sage-green fabric that echoes the garden planting beyond the glass.
Restaurant floor-to-ceiling window dining area at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The floor-to-ceiling window dining wall: Zhobai’s banquette seating system runs the full length of the glazing, upholstered in a warm ivory with decorative stitching that references Song-era silk embroidery patterns — a detail visible only on close inspection, but one that rewards attentive guests.
Restaurant breakfast buffet food counter at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The breakfast buffet counter: Zhobai fabricated the entire buffet station structure — a 5.6-metre marble-topped counter with integrated hot-food wells, cereal and bread display zones, and concealed lower storage — in a single production run for seamless on-site installation.
All-day dining cold dish buffet bar at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The cold dish and salad buffet bar: a separate Zhobai-fabricated station in a darker smoked oak finish, with refrigerated display wells and a raised canopy structure that creates visual separation from the adjacent hot-food counter while maintaining the overall buffet layout’s coherence.
Restaurant independent dining booth area at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The restaurant’s private dining booth zone uses Zhobai’s high-back banquette system — upholstered back panels in a warm terracotta provide acoustic separation between adjacent booths, creating semi-private dining enclosures without structural partition walls.

    Ju — Chinese Restaurant

Chinese restaurant entrance lobby at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The Ju Chinese Restaurant entrance lobby on the second floor: Zhobai supplied the reception console, a pair of carved stone garden stools, and the feature lantern display cabinet that frames the transition from corridor to dining venue.
Chinese restaurant private booth dining at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
One of Ju Restaurant’s ten private dining rooms: Zhobai supplied the round dining table in a dark lacquer finish, throne-style dining chairs in a burgundy silk-blend velvet, and the full sideboard and service console programme — all coordinated to Cantonese banquet dining protocol requirements.

The second-floor Ju Restaurant serves Cantonese and Henan local cuisine across ten private dining rooms — a layout that caters specifically to the corporate entertainment and banquet clientele that the hotel’s Zhengzhou East Station adjacency generates in volume. Zhobai’s private dining room furniture brief required the gravitas appropriate for high-level business banquets while avoiding the dated aesthetic common in older Chinese restaurant environments. We specified a dark rosewood-effect lacquer for all dining table surfaces — formal without being heavy — and paired the tables with a throne-style chair in a burgundy silk-blend velvet whose seat height was precisely calibrated to the 740-mm table surface height, eliminating the ergonomic mismatch that persists in many Chinese banquet settings where chairs and tables are sourced independently. The ten-room suite was furnished from a single production batch, ensuring absolute consistency in finish and dimension across all dining configurations.

Meetings and Events: 1,000 Square Metres of Convention Infrastructure

The 1,000-square-metre meeting and banquet floor at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East centres on a 527-square-metre pillar-free grand ballroom — a technically demanding space specification that required Zhobai’s banquet furniture to perform at the density and reconfiguration speed expected of a property whose primary commercial adjacency is a high-speed rail hub generating a constant stream of corporate group bookings.

Ballroom theater-style conference at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The 527 m² grand ballroom configured in theater style: Zhobai’s padded stacking chairs with aisle-aligned row brackets accommodate the high-density seating required for the ballroom’s 350-person conference configuration, while the gold-tone frame maintains visual elegance in formal banquet settings.
Banquet hall block seating meeting setup at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The ballroom in a block-seating classroom configuration: Zhobai’s modular classroom table system uses interlocking row connectors that allow hotel staff to transition between classroom, theater, and banquet layouts in under two hours — essential for back-to-back event programming.
Boardroom long table formal meeting room at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The executive boardroom features a Zhobai bespoke conference table in book-matched walnut veneer — 5,400 mm long, with flush-mounted power and data modules at each of the twelve seating positions.
Small meeting room with blue cloth conference setup at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
One of the property’s six small meeting rooms: Zhobai’s modular conference table system — individual modules with locking connectors — is configured here in a compact 10-person boardroom layout using a cobalt blue table drape, the hotel’s secondary brand colour.

Zhobai supplied 400 gold-tone banquet chairs for the DoubleTree Zhengzhou East event floor — all from our commercial hotel collection, with a padded seat and sash-ready back, stackable to twelve per trolley. The ballroom’s 4.5-metre ceiling height and natural daylight from clerestory windows above the perimeter walls made this one of the more pleasant banquet environments Zhobai has furnished in Central China, and we specified chair dimensions — seat width 490 mm — slightly more generous than our standard model in recognition of the ballroom’s relatively relaxed density capacity of 30 tables. The executive boardroom table is a signature piece: a single 5,400-mm surface in book-matched walnut veneer with a hairline-fine brass inlay border at the edge, and twelve flush-mounted power-and-data modules positioned at each chair station — fabricated in Zhobai’s millwork facility and delivered to site pre-finished for a one-day installation.

    Recreation and Wellness

24-hour fitness gym with glass wall interior at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The third-floor fitness centre benefits from a full glass wall overlooking the hotel’s lower-level garden — Zhobai supplied the gym’s peripheral furniture: equipment storage racks, towel service station, and the stretch mat storage unit adjacent to the yoga zone.
Fitness gym full equipment interior at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East
The fitness centre’s full equipment zone: alongside the cardio and strength machines supplied by the hotel’s fitness equipment contractor, Zhobai delivered the gym’s entrance console, member card display unit, and the water station millwork — coordinating finish and material with the overall third-floor recreation level design.

The third-floor recreation level at DoubleTree Zhengzhou East houses the 24-hour fitness centre, yoga studio, and indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool — all complimentary for hotel guests. The gym’s glass wall elevation overlooking the hotel garden was a key architectural feature that Zhobai’s furniture programme was designed to celebrate rather than obstruct: all equipment-adjacent furniture and storage units are positioned against the internal walls, keeping the glazed elevation free of visual interruption. Poolside furniture — weather-tolerant loungers in powder-coated aluminium with quick-dry mesh slings — was specified from Zhobai’s indoor pool collection, with a bronze finish selected to carry the brand’s brushed-bronze hardware language into the recreation environment.

    Delivery and the Zhobai Commitment

The DoubleTree Zhengzhou East project marks a significant milestone in Zhobai’s portfolio: a first-tier Hilton brand opening at one of China’s highest-profile transport infrastructure nodes, designed by one of Asia’s most respected hospitality interior practices, and furnished end-to-end by Zhobai’s integrated FF&E team. The Song Dynasty aesthetic that PLD brought to this project demanded a level of material and proportional discipline that tests the limits of conventional hotel furniture manufacturing — finishes that cannot be approximated by standard catalogue products, proportions that require custom tooling, and textile choices that depend on specialist weaving sources not typically engaged for hospitality work.

Zhobai’s ability to meet that brief reflects the investment the company has made over fifteen years in building a production capability that sits above the mass market while remaining commercially viable for large-scale hotel openings. Every piece in this 280-room programme was reviewed against PLD’s design documentation at the sample stage, approved by Hilton’s architecture and construction team, and delivered pre-installed to room-ready standard — a supply chain and quality control process that compressed on-site installation time while giving the hotel’s pre-opening operations team confidence that the finished product would match the approved samples precisely. We are proud to have contributed the complete FF&E environment to what promises to be the definitive business hotel of Zhengzhou’s new east district.

  • Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing — Lake Resort FF&E

Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing — Lake Resort FF&E

    Project Overview

When the Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing Downtown opened its doors in 2022, it marked a defining moment for hospitality in western Guangdong: the arrival of the first Wyndham Grand-branded property in the region, and the transformation of a legacy hotel site into one of the most ambitious resort destinations in the Pearl River Delta hinterland. With 630 guestrooms — 290 of which feature private balcony mineral spring soaking pools — an 11,000-square-metre conference complex, four dining venues, and a showpiece cave hot spring, this is a property of genuine scale and complexity. As the exclusive FF&E partner commissioned to furnish every guest-facing space, Zhobai Hotel Furniture brought to this project not only manufacturing capability but the design intelligence required to translate an ambitious brief into a coherent, brand-compliant physical environment.

Situated at No. 13 Xinghu Avenue, Duanzhou District, Zhaoqing — immediately adjacent to the east gate of the Seven Star Crags (Qixingyan) National 5A Scenic Area — the hotel’s address is inseparable from its identity. The karst limestone peaks, lake vistas, and garden landscapes of one of South China’s most celebrated natural parks form a literal backdrop to the property’s guest experience. Every major furniture decision at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing was made in conscious dialogue with that landscape: materials that echo natural stone, colour palettes drawn from the water and limestone of the Xinhu lake system, and room configurations designed to frame — rather than compete with — the views beyond the glass.

    Exterior and Setting

Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing hotel garden front exterior by day
The hotel’s garden-facing frontage by day: Zhobai supplied the exterior furniture programme for the garden terrace, including weather-resistant lounge seating, parasol bases, and planting bed border units that frame the hotel’s arrival garden.
Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing palm-lined hotel facade exterior
Tropical landscaping and the hotel’s warm-toned facade set a resort atmosphere immediately on approach — the outdoor furniture programme Zhobai delivered for this zone was specified in UV-stable resin wicker to withstand Zhaoqing’s subtropical humidity.
Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing sunset lake panorama exterior
At sunset, the hotel’s lakeside elevation reflects across the Xinhu lake surface — a view that shaped Zhobai’s entire interior colour programme, with warm amber and sand tones referencing the light quality of the site at golden hour.

    Lobby and Arrival Spaces

The arrival sequence at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing is conceived as a theatrical transition — from the outdoor tropical garden, through a monumental entrance portal, into an interior world that simultaneously references the region’s karst geology and the refined aesthetic of contemporary new Chinese luxury design. Zhobai’s lobby furniture programme was developed in close coordination with the project’s interior design practice, with every piece positioned to reinforce the spatial narrative established by the architecture.

Lobby digital scenic wall entrance at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The arrival lobby’s digital scenic wall — a floor-to-ceiling LED installation depicting Seven Star Crags landscapes — is framed by Zhobai’s entrance furniture programme: console tables in honed travertine and brushed bronze, and a pair of bespoke lounge chairs in a warm ochre velvet positioned as arrival seating.
Lobby reception and lounge area at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The lobby reception and lounge zone: Zhobai’s curved reception counter in light travertine-effect stone and warm oak veneer is flanked by a modular lounge seating programme in neutral sand and warm terracotta tones.
Lobby colour ceiling corridor at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The colour-ceiling corridor connecting the arrival lobby to the tower lifts features Zhobai’s wall-mounted console programme and custom corridor benching — pieces whose dark walnut finish grounds the corridor beneath the dramatic overhead light installation.
Grand lobby corridor passage at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The grand corridor passage leading to the meeting and dining wings: Zhobai specified a continuous console table run along the inner wall, providing luggage rest points and display surfaces without interrupting the visual depth of the long perspective.

The reception counter at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing is among the most architecturally significant pieces in Zhobai’s recent project portfolio. At over eight metres in length, the curved desk accommodates four check-in positions simultaneously — essential for a 630-room property that receives group tour arrivals from the Seven Star Crags tourist circuit. The counter’s travertine-effect stone cladding was fabricated by Zhobai’s millwork team using a high-pressure laminate system that closely approximates the visual texture of real stone while offering the impact resistance and repairability required in a high-traffic hotel environment. The counter surface — in honed white marble — was supplied and installed by Zhobai’s stone division, with seamless under-mounted joints that prevent the liquid ingress issues common in granite reception surfaces over years of hotel operation.

Guestrooms: 630 Keys, New Chinese Luxury Across Seven Tiers

The guestroom programme at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing is defined by two overlapping ambitions: brand compliance with Wyndham Grand’s international FF&E standards, and a design identity that is unmistakably rooted in the cultural and natural heritage of Zhaoqing. Zhobai achieved this balance through a palette of materials that read as contemporary and sophisticated while carrying deliberate references to the landscape — ink-wash grey stone-effect finishes on headboard panels, warm bamboo-toned laminates on cabinetry, and textile choices that cycle through the green, blue, and ochre of the Xinhu lakeside environment across room categories.

Standard King guestroom interior view at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The Standard King guestroom: Zhobai’s platform bed base, upholstered headboard in a neutral linen weave, and matching bedside tables establish the room’s base material language — restrained and contemporary, with a warm undertone that prevents the minimalism from feeling clinical.
Deluxe King garden view room at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The Deluxe King Garden View room expands on the standard configuration with a lounge chair positioned at the full-height window — a furniture arrangement that Zhobai specified to maximise use of the panoramic garden prospect.
Luxury King garden view bedroom at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The Luxury King Garden View bedroom features Zhobai’s premium headboard variant — an arched panel in a structured ivory bouclé, taller and more sculptural than the standard tier, reinforcing the room’s position in the property’s FF&E hierarchy.
High-floor garden view King room at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
High-floor garden view rooms benefit from elevated karst mountain panoramas; Zhobai configured all furniture to maintain unobstructed sightlines from both the bed and the in-room lounge seating.
Room corner sofa lounge nook at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The suite-category room corner lounge nook features Zhobai’s L-sofa module in a deep slate-blue velvet — a colour that directly references the ink-tone of the Seven Star Crags lake surface at dusk, and serves as the suite’s primary accent.
Room wood vanity and wall detail at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The vanity wall detail in a premium king room: Zhobai’s full-height millwork panel integrates mirror, vanity shelf, and concealed cable management in a single architectural piece that eliminates the visual clutter of separately sourced accessories.
Room private balcony with mountain view at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
One of the hotel’s 290 private balcony mineral spring soaking pool rooms: Zhobai supplied the balcony furniture programme — the soaking pool surround teak decking support frame, adjacent stone-top side table, and weather-resistant recliner — as an integrated outdoor FF&E package.

The private balcony soaking pool rooms represent the most technically demanding element of Zhobai’s scope at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing. Each of the 290 pool rooms required a bespoke balcony furniture package designed to function in direct contact with the mineral-rich spring water, subtropical humidity, and direct sun exposure of an outdoor deck environment. Zhobai developed a teak hardwood decking surround frame for each pool, with stone-topped side tables in a UV-stable composite material and recliner frames in powder-coated marine-grade aluminium — a metal specification normally reserved for coastal projects, but selected here because of the soaking pool water’s mineral content, which accelerates corrosion in standard commercial-grade furniture components. The result is a balcony environment that performs as beautifully in the property’s third year of operation as it did at opening.

    Family Rooms and Children’s Configurations

Family kid-themed guestroom at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The family-themed children’s room features Zhobai’s children’s furniture collection: a low-slung play table with rounded corners, a soft activity rug, an indoor canvas tent, and wall-mounted storage in a playful primary colour palette.
Family twin lake view room at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The family twin lake view room accommodates parents and children with two adult single beds alongside a children’s play zone; Zhobai’s layout separates the sleeping and play areas using a low storage unit that functions as both visual divider and toy storage.

Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing’s proximity to the Seven Star Crags scenic area makes it a natural destination for family resort stays, and the hotel’s family room programme reflects that commercial reality. Zhobai developed a modular children’s furniture package — a low play table, round-corner occasional tables, a canvas tent frame, and a wall-mounted pegboard storage system — that can be installed in any standard king room to create an ad hoc family configuration, allowing the hotel to flex its family room inventory in response to seasonal demand without permanent room reconfiguration.

Bathrooms: Private Soaking Tubs and Wet-Dry Separation

Guestroom marble bathtub bathroom at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The premium bathroom programme features a freestanding soaking tub as the focal element; Zhobai supplied the adjacent teak bath bridge, floor-mounted towel ladder, robe hooks, and the full accessory programme in a coordinated brushed gold finish.

All guestroom bathrooms at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing are configured with wet-dry separation — a standard feature of the Wyndham Grand brand specification in the Chinese market, and a genuine functional asset for resort guests who use the property’s thermal bathing facilities across multiple daily sessions. Zhobai’s bathroom FF&E scope covers the complete vanity millwork package: a 1,400-mm wide double-basin vanity unit in moisture-resistant MDF finished in a warm stone-effect lacquer, with an integrated open shelf at knee height for towel storage, and a full-width backlit mirror frame in brushed gold that delivers 2,700K warm-white illumination across the entire vanity width. In soaking tub configurations, the teak bath bridge, towel ladder, and accessory programme were designed as a coordinated set — all items delivered pre-finished from Zhobai’s facility to avoid on-site painting or sealing that would introduce delays into the room completion sequence.

Dining: Four Venues Across Three Floors

All-day dining restaurant hall at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The Xuan All-Day Restaurant dining hall: Zhobai’s dining furniture programme layers multiple seating typologies — upholstered dining chairs, banquette seating along the perimeter, and counter-height window seats — to create distinct sub-zones within the open floor plate.
Restaurant window dining area at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The window dining zone in the all-day restaurant provides panoramic garden views; Zhobai specified two-top and four-top tables positioned to maximise the number of window-facing seats without creating a layout that feels regimented.
Restaurant garden view dining hall at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The garden-view section of the restaurant uses Zhobai’s banquette seating system along the floor-to-ceiling glazing — an upholstered bench run that accommodates large group dining while maintaining the visual connection to the garden landscape outside.

The second-floor Xuan All-Day Restaurant is the hotel’s primary dining venue — a full-service buffet and à la carte space that anchors the property’s food and beverage offering with a garden-facing panoramic window wall. Zhobai’s furniture brief for this 320-seat restaurant required unusual variety: morning breakfast service demands durable, easily cleanable surfaces and efficient table arrangements for high-turnover seating; evening dinner service calls for a more ambient, relaxed configuration suited to the property’s RMB 358 per person premium seafood buffet positioning. Our solution layered three seating types — upholstered dining chairs with washable fabric seats at the central tables, leather-effect banquette benches along the window elevation, and rattan-wrapped counter stools at the garden-view counter — with table sizes ranging from intimate two-tops to extendable six-tops that can be combined for group bookings. The furniture system’s modularity allows the restaurant team to reconfigure the floor between meal periods in under thirty minutes using furniture casters and folding table extensions, all integral to Zhobai’s commercial dining specification.

Meetings and Events: 11,000 Square Metres of Event Infrastructure

The conference and banquet programme at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing is among the largest in western Guangdong, and its commercial significance to the hotel’s revenue model shaped every decision in Zhobai’s meeting furniture specification. The 11,000-square-metre event floor encompasses a pillar-free grand ballroom with seven-metre ceiling heights and an integrated LED screen, ten-plus multi-function rooms, and a full pre-function area — a programme capable of handling 60-table wedding banquets and thousand-person corporate annual conferences from the same facilities on consecutive days.

Banquet hall theater setup at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The grand ballroom configured in theater style for a large conference: Zhobai’s padded stacking chairs and aisle-aligned row system accommodate the rapid reconfiguration cycles that an active event floor demands — from theater to banquet to classroom within a single working day.
Multi-function hall empty conference setup at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
One of the property’s ten multi-function conference rooms configured for boardroom use: Zhobai’s modular conference table system uses locking connectors that allow hotel staff to reconfigure from 10-person boardroom to 30-person classroom without removing tables from the room.

Zhobai supplied over 800 banquet chairs for the Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing event floor — all from our commercial hotel banquet collection, in a gold-tone metal frame with padded seat and sash-ready back. The chair’s stacking profile (10 chairs per stack) was selected in response to the ballroom’s daily reset requirements: the property’s event operations team can break down and reset a 60-table banquet configuration in under ninety minutes, a timeline that drove every handling-efficiency decision in the banquet furniture specification. Conference rooms are furnished with Zhobai’s modular table system — individual modules with locking cable-management connectors that allow hotel staff to shift between boardroom, classroom, and U-shape layouts without tools or specialist knowledge. All conference chairs are in a mid-back executive model with swivel base and armrests, upholstered in a charcoal mesh-back specification that provides passive ventilation during multi-hour conference sessions in South China’s warm climate.

    Recreation and Wellness

24-hour fitness gym interior at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing
The 24-hour fitness centre: Zhobai supplied the gym’s peripheral furniture programme — equipment storage racks, a towel service station, a stretch mat storage unit, and the gym entrance console — alongside the poolside lounger programme for the adjacent indoor swimming pool.

The sixth floor recreation level at Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing houses the fitness centre, yoga studio, and indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, supplemented by the property’s signature cave hot spring complex — an underground mineral spring facility that is among the most unusual resort amenities in Guangdong. Zhobai’s scope on the recreation floor focused on peripheral and outdoor furniture: gym equipment organiser racks, a staffed towel service station, stretch mat storage, and a full poolside lounger programme in powder-coated aluminium frames with quick-dry mesh slings — a specification chosen for its performance in chlorine-adjacent wet environments and its ability to drain and dry between guest uses without towel-aided assistance.

Project Delivery and the Zhobai Partnership Model

A 630-room hotel opening in Zhaoqing presented logistical conditions that reward suppliers with genuine Chinese project experience. Zhobai’s production facility in Guangdong positioned us within an efficient delivery radius of the Zhaoqing site, enabling a delivery sequence — phased by building section and floor — that maintained furniture installation momentum while the general contractor completed final finishes in the upper floors. Our project manager was resident in Zhaoqing for the final ten weeks of the installation programme, conducting daily handover inspections with the hotel’s pre-opening team and the interior design practice’s site representative.

Wyndham Grand Zhaoqing Downtown has since established itself as the leading resort hotel in western Guangdong, with a five-star equivalent positioning that draws leisure guests from Guangzhou, Foshan, and Shenzhen as well as international visitors to the Seven Star Crags. The property carries a 4.8-star aggregate rating across major Chinese booking platforms, with guest reviews that consistently highlight the room quality, the private pool experience, and the dining programme — the three areas where Zhobai’s FF&E investment is most directly visible in the guest experience. We remain available to the hotel’s ownership and management teams for renovation planning, individual room upgrades, and furniture maintenance support as the property evolves through its operating life.

  • Courtyard Changchun Poly — Marriott FF&E

Courtyard Changchun Poly — Marriott FF&E

    Project Overview

When Poly Real Estate commissioned the first Courtyard by Marriott in Northeast China’s Jilin Province, the ambition extended well beyond simply opening another internationally branded hotel. The Courtyard Changchun Poly — inaugurated in 2022 at No. 7847 Xihu Avenue in Changchun’s Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone — was conceived as a landmark that would define the hospitality standard for an entire industrial corridor. As the exclusive FF&E partner for this 286-room property, Zhobai Hotel Furniture was entrusted with one of the most comprehensive hotel furniture programmes we have undertaken in Northeast China: lobbies, guestrooms, dining venues, meeting facilities, and recreation spaces, all coordinated across a single integrated delivery.

The hotel’s location tells the story of its primary commercial purpose. Situated immediately adjacent to the FAW (First Automobile Works) NBD business district and within walking distance of the FAW-Volkswagen manufacturing campus, Courtyard Changchun Poly was built to serve the executives, engineers, and commercial delegations that circulate continuously through China’s automotive capital. Fifteen minutes by car to Changchun West Station, two kilometres from Automobile Park Metro Station, and directly opposite a Wanda Plaza — the property sits at the crossroads of Changchun’s industrial economy and its emerging urban leisure infrastructure. Zhobai’s FF&E specification was calibrated to serve both constituencies: the demanding business traveller who expects international Marriott standards, and the domestic leisure guest discovering that Changchun’s automotive heartland has quietly become one of the most liveable new urban districts in the northeast.

    Lobby and Public Arrival Spaces

The arrival experience at Courtyard Changchun Poly sets an immediate tone of contemporary restraint. The exterior facade — a clean-lined commercial tower in warm stone cladding and glass curtain-wall — establishes the property’s corporate identity from the street, while the ground-floor lobby transitions guests into a warmer, more residential atmosphere designed to counteract the industrial character of the surrounding development zone.

Lobby front reception entrance at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The lobby entrance zone sets a tone of contemporary warmth; Zhobai supplied the custom millwork reception counter, entrance console tables, and all FF&E framing the arrival sequence.
Lobby reception counter area at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The reception counter is a Zhobai bespoke fabrication: a curved desk in warm-toned veneer with brushed bronze hardware, designed to project efficiency and approachability simultaneously.

Zhobai’s lobby furniture programme centres on the reception counter — a curved millwork piece in warm walnut veneer with integrated brushed bronze hardware, sized to accommodate three simultaneous check-in positions without appearing monolithic in the double-height lobby volume. Behind the counter, a backlit feature wall carries the Courtyard by Marriott branding in polished metal lettering mounted against a textured stone-effect panel fabricated in Zhobai’s millwork facility in Guangdong and shipped north in completed sections for on-site assembly.

Lobby central lounge space at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The central lobby lounge features Zhobai’s modular sofa and occasional table programme, arranged to define distinct conversation zones within the open-plan lobby volume.
Lobby corner sofa lounge at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Corner lounge zones throughout the lobby use Zhobai’s L-configuration sofa modules — flexible enough to accommodate solo guests with laptops as well as small group meetings.
Lobby long sofa waiting lounge at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The waiting lounge along the lobby perimeter features Zhobai’s long bench sofa — a configuration that maximises seating density during peak check-in periods without sacrificing visual openness.
Lobby corridor passageway at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Zhobai’s corridor programme includes wall-mounted console tables, artwork lighting brackets, and bespoke corridor benches — details that maintain the design language from lobby to lift lobby to guestroom floor.

The central lobby lounge is anchored by a bespoke circular rug — supplied through Zhobai’s soft-furnishings division — around which we arranged a modular sofa system in a warm sand-toned fabric with dark oak frame components. Occasional tables in three height variations allow guests to configure the zone for laptop working, casual conversation, or simply relaxing with the hotel’s complimentary coffee service. Corner lounge zones extend the public seating programme to the lobby perimeter, with L-configuration sofa modules that create semi-enclosed enclosures without physically partitioning the space.

    Lobby Bar

Lobby bar counter entrance area at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The lobby bar counter is a Zhobai fabrication in polished dark granite and brass-trimmed millwork, positioned to serve both walk-in guests and overflow from the adjacent dining zones.
Lobby bar casual dining corner at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The casual dining corner adjacent to the lobby bar accommodates informal meals and working lunches; Zhobai specified counter-height stools and compact dining tables suited to solo and duo dining occasions.

The lobby bar at Courtyard Changchun Poly is positioned as an all-day social hub — morning coffee for early departures, afternoon refreshments for arriving guests, and evening drinks for the automotive industry professionals who make up a significant portion of the hotel’s repeat clientele. Zhobai fabricated the bar counter in polished dark granite with a brass-trimmed millwork back bar, the back bar shelving system designed with adjustable display lighting to accommodate both bottle display and the property’s growing glassware collection. Bar stools in a saddle-shaped dark leather were custom upholstered by Zhobai’s soft-furnishings team to the precise seat height required by the counter’s 1,100 mm working surface.

Guestrooms: 286 Keys Across Nine Room Categories

The 286-room inventory at Courtyard Changchun Poly spans a comprehensive range of room types — from efficient standard configurations at 35 square metres to the 74-square-metre suites preferred for corporate entertainment — as well as 90 long-stay apartment-format rooms and a dedicated family room with children’s features. Marriott’s Courtyard brand carries specific FF&E standards documentation, and Zhobai’s project team worked directly with Marriott’s Asia-Pacific procurement liaison to obtain brand approval for all custom pieces before fabrication commenced.

Room entry hall and corridor view at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The guestroom entry corridor: Zhobai specified a mirrored wardrobe door system with recessed handles that maximises the perceived width of entry zones in the 35 m² standard room footprint.
Standard King guestroom living zone at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Standard King guestroom living zone combines Zhobai’s platform bed base, upholstered headboard, dual bedside tables, and integrated TV console into a cohesive furniture grouping.
Basic King standard guestroom at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Basic King configuration uses Zhobai’s space-optimised bedside shelf integrated into the headboard panel, eliminating the need for separate nightstands in the room’s more compact floor plan.
Basic Twin standard room at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Twin configurations share the same headboard-and-shelf system as king rooms, with the two single beds positioned to provide adequate circulation while maintaining a unified visual composition.
Blue light double bed guestroom at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Select double-bed rooms feature an LED ambient lighting system behind the headboard panel — a Zhobai electrical integration that allows guests to select warm or cool accent lighting without external fixtures.
Deluxe King cityview bedroom at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Deluxe King Cityview bedroom features a full floor-to-ceiling curtain system supplied by Zhobai — motorised blackout panels paired with sheer voile in a warm champagne tone.
Deluxe Twin cityview room at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Deluxe Twin Cityview room accommodates corporate travel pairs with generous desk space; Zhobai specified a full-width floating desk at both wall positions to equalise workspace between the two beds.
High-floor cityview King bedroom at Courtyard Changchun Poly
High-floor king bedrooms benefit from panoramic views of Changchun’s Automobile Development Zone; Zhobai positioned all furniture to maintain unobstructed sightlines from the bed to the floor-to-ceiling glazing.
Family kid-themed King bedroom at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The dedicated family room features Zhobai’s children’s furniture programme: a low-profile bunk unit with rounded corners, an indoor tent structure, and safety-rated soft furnishings — all specified to meet GB 28007 children’s furniture safety standards.

The family room — one of Courtyard Changchun Poly’s most distinctive room type offerings — required Zhobai to develop a bespoke children’s furniture programme alongside the standard adult FF&E. The room features a custom indoor tent structure fabricated in powder-coated steel with canvas panels, a low-profile bunk bed unit with ladder handrails rated to Chinese GB 28007 children’s furniture safety standards, and rounded-corner occasional tables finished in a playful warm yellow. Adult furniture in the same space maintains the property’s standard material language, ensuring the room functions for parents while delighting children — a balance that required unusually close collaboration between Zhobai’s design team and the hotel’s operational planning staff.

Room laundry washer-dryer cabinet at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Long-stay apartment rooms feature a Zhobai-fabricated laundry cabinet that conceals the washer-dryer unit behind full-height joinery doors — a practical necessity for extended-stay guests that demanded precise millwork tolerances for ventilation clearance.

The 90 long-stay apartment-format rooms required a fundamentally different FF&E approach from the transient guest rooms. Zhobai developed a series of high-capacity storage pieces — a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe system with full-extension drawers, a laundry cabinet enclosing the washer-dryer unit behind full-height millwork doors, and a kitchen counter unit with concealed appliance storage — all specified in a durable high-pressure laminate finish rated for the daily wear of extended occupancy. The furniture system’s modular construction also allows the hotel’s housekeeping team to reconfigure individual pieces when a long-stay unit transitions to transient inventory, a flexibility requirement specified by Courtyard’s brand operations team.

Bathrooms: Marble Vanities and Wet-Dry Separation

Guestroom marble bathroom vanity at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Zhobai’s bathroom vanity units are finished with a honed marble counter top and moisture-resistant MDF carcase — the drawer system uses a slow-close undermount runner rated to 80,000 cycles for hotel environment durability.
Room bathroom bathtub space at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Deluxe and suite bathrooms include a freestanding bathtub zone; Zhobai supplied the adjacent timber bath tray, towel ladder, and all bathroom accessories in a coordinated brushed gold finish.

The bathroom programme at Courtyard Changchun Poly was specified to Marriott’s brand standard for wet-dry separation — a non-negotiable feature in all Courtyard-branded properties in the Chinese market. Zhobai’s vanity units combine a honed marble counter with a moisture-resistant MDF carcase finished in a warm off-white lacquer, the drawer fronts in a matching push-to-open configuration that eliminates the need for visible handles in the compact bathroom footprint. Mirror units above the vanity are framed in brushed gold and incorporate LED strip lighting at 3,000K — matched across all 286 bathrooms to ensure colour-consistent illumination for guests regardless of room floor or aspect. In deluxe and suite bathroom configurations, Zhobai supplied the full accessory programme around the freestanding bathtub: a teak bath bridge, towel ladder, floor-mounted robe hooks, and a wall-mounted magnifying mirror — all in a coordinated brushed gold metal finish.

Dining: Three Venues, Three Distinct Furniture Programmes

    Wanhui Western All-Day Dining Restaurant

The second-floor Wanhui Restaurant is the hotel’s primary all-day dining venue — a full-service buffet and à la carte space that opens daily from 6:00 AM for breakfast service and returns for dinner with a sea-food buffet offering. With panoramic city-view windows and a broad open-plan floor plate, the space demanded a furniture programme that could accommodate high-turnover breakfast service in the morning and a more relaxed, convivial atmosphere in the evening.

All-day dining cafe breakfast zone at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The breakfast zone in the Wanhui Restaurant features Zhobai’s commercial dining chair in a sand-coloured upholstered pad — a spec designed for easy cleaning under high breakfast-service turnover while maintaining a refined appearance.
All-day dining blue sofa buffet restaurant at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Wanhui buffet restaurant features Zhobai’s upholstered banquette seating in a cobalt blue — the hotel’s brand accent colour — running the length of the window wall, with loose dining chairs at the table opposite.
Restaurant wooden floor dining hall at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The main dining hall features warm oak-toned dining tables in three sizes — 2-top, 4-top, and 6-top — allowing the floor team to reconfigure the layout for group bookings or social dining events.
Restaurant long passage dining corridor at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The dining corridor connecting the restaurant zones uses Zhobai’s counter-height table-and-stool programme — an efficient use of transitional space that adds seating capacity without interrupting the flow between venue areas.

    Yugong Chinese Restaurant

Chinese restaurant private dining booth at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The Yugong Chinese Restaurant private dining booths feature Zhobai’s high-back banquette seating system — the upholstered back panels provide acoustic separation between adjacent booths in the open-plan dining room.
Small banquet window dining room at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Yugong’s window dining rooms seat private groups of 8–12; Zhobai supplied the round dining table in a red lacquer finish — a traditional Chinese banquet colour choice that reinforces the restaurant’s northeastern Chinese culinary identity.

The third-floor Yugong Chinese Restaurant serves northeast Chinese and Shandong cuisine in a premium environment calibrated for corporate entertainment and family banquets. Zhobai’s furniture brief for this venue was culturally specific: the private dining booths required high-back upholstered seating that simultaneously provided acoustic separation between adjacent groups and communicated the gravitas appropriate for business banquet occasions. We specified a dark rosewood-effect laminate for all table surfaces, paired with throne-style dining chairs in a deep burgundy velvet — a combination that reads as unambiguously formal without veering into the dated aesthetics common in older Chinese banquet restaurants.

Meeting and Banquet Facilities: 1,395 Square Metres of Event Infrastructure

The meeting and banquet programme at Courtyard Changchun Poly is one of the property’s most commercially significant assets. The 1,395-square-metre event floor encompasses five multi-function rooms, a pillar-free grand ballroom with 6.6–7 metre ceiling heights, and a full staging infrastructure — including a 52-square-metre integrated LED wall — capable of accommodating 60 tables for wedding banquets or large-scale automotive industry launch events.

Boardroom long table conference room at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The executive boardroom features a Zhobai bespoke long conference table in a book-matched walnut veneer with integrated power and data modules flush to the tabletop surface.
Small board meeting room at Courtyard Changchun Poly
Smaller meeting rooms accommodate 6–10 delegates with Zhobai’s modular conference table system — individual table modules can be separated and reconfigured for training or workshop layouts.
Theater-style large conference hall at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The large conference hall configured in theater style accommodates up to 300 delegates; Zhobai supplied all padded stacking chairs and the foldable writing tablet arms used in theater and classroom configurations.
Large theater conference hall with stage at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The main conference hall with integrated stage — designed with the automotive industry’s product launch format in mind. Note the 52 m² LED wall behind the stage, with Zhobai’s lectern and stage furniture positioned for presentations.
Banquet round table ballroom setup at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The pillar-free grand ballroom configured for a 60-table wedding banquet: Zhobai supplied all round dining tables, banquet chairs with sash covers, and the cake and gift table programme used in the hotel’s standard wedding package.
Banquet hall seating area at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The banquet hall’s stage-view seating zone during a formal dinner event; Zhobai’s gold-tone banquet chair — a model from our hotel seating collection — is specified across all 600+ banquet chairs on this event floor.

Zhobai’s meeting furniture programme at Courtyard Changchun Poly covers every scale of the event floor’s operation. The executive boardroom is anchored by a bespoke conference table in book-matched walnut veneer — 5,400 mm long, 1,200 mm wide — with flush-mounted power and data modules at each seating position, specified in coordination with the hotel’s AV integrator so that cable management and technology infrastructure align precisely with Zhobai’s table carcase design. Smaller meeting rooms use a modular conference table system whose individual modules can be separated and reconfigured by hotel staff without tools, enabling classroom, boardroom, and hollow-square layouts from the same furniture inventory.

For the grand ballroom, Zhobai supplied 600 gold-tone banquet chairs — our standard hotel banquet model with a padded seat and sash-ready back — and 60 round dining tables in a dark walnut laminate surface. The chair’s stackability (12 chairs per stack) was a critical specification parameter: the ballroom’s rapid-reset requirements between wedding lunch and corporate dinner events depend on housekeeping being able to clear and redress 60 tables in under two hours, a timeline that drove every handling-efficiency decision in the banquet furniture specification.

    Recreation Facilities

24-hour fitness gym center at Courtyard Changchun Poly
The 24-hour fitness centre on the sixth floor; Zhobai supplied the equipment storage units, towel service station, and all freestanding furniture in the gym environment.

The sixth floor recreation level houses the hotel’s full fitness centre, yoga room, and indoor heated swimming pool — all available to hotel guests at no additional charge. Zhobai’s scope on this level was focused on the fitness centre’s peripheral furniture: equipment organiser racks, a towel service station, a trainer’s desk unit, and the locker room benching system. The pool surround was furnished with Zhobai’s resin-weave sun loungers — a model selected for its resistance to the chlorine-laden humid environment that rapidly degrades standard upholstered furniture in indoor pool settings.

Project Delivery and Zhobai’s Integrated FF&E Approach

Delivering a 286-room Marriott-affiliated hotel opening in Northeast China’s winter climate presented logistical considerations that a supplier without deep Chinese market experience would struggle to manage. Zhobai’s Changchun Poly project was planned with delivery sequencing that anticipated the region’s late-autumn weather constraints: all exterior and ground-floor furniture was delivered and installed first, while guestroom furniture followed in a floor-by-floor sequence coordinated with the building contractor’s room completion schedule.

Brand approval — a mandatory step for any FF&E piece that deviates from Marriott’s Courtyard prototypical specification — was managed by Zhobai’s project team through a structured sample submission process: material samples, finish boards, and prototype pieces were submitted to Marriott’s Asia-Pacific architecture and design team at defined project milestones, with review timelines built into the overall project schedule rather than treated as potential delays. All brand-approved custom pieces carry documentation filed with both the hotel owner and Marriott’s records system, ensuring that future renovations can reference original specifications precisely.

Courtyard Changchun Poly opened in 2022 to become the first Courtyard by Marriott in Jilin Province and the first international chain hotel brand in the Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone — a milestone that carries commercial significance for every stakeholder in the project. Zhobai is proud to have contributed the complete FF&E programme to a property that continues to earn a 4.7-star aggregate rating on Ctrip and serves as the hospitality standard-bearer for one of China’s most strategically important industrial districts.

  • Sheraton Mianyang Xianhai Lake Resort FF&E

Sheraton Mianyang Xianhai Lake Resort FF&E

On the forested shores of Lake Xianhai in Mianyang, Sichuan — a lake ringed by 46 peninsulas and cloaked in 90% forest coverage — Sheraton Mianyang Xianhai Lake Resort opened in July 2021 as something rarely achieved in the global hotel industry: a world-class brand’s official prototype for a new design generation. Developed under the newly reimagined Sheraton brand by Marriott International, the 342-key property was designated as the Asia-Pacific’s first Sheraton “New Era” flagship — a benchmark property against which Sheraton hotels across the region would be measured and inspired. Its open-lobby concept, Sichuan bamboo-weave interiors, lakeside resort setting and comprehensive family amenity programme made it, upon opening, the most talked-about new hotel in southwest China. Zhobai was appointed to deliver the complete hotel furniture FF&E solution for this landmark project — producing and installing the full furniture programme across guestrooms, suites, lobby, dining halls, banquet facilities and wellness spaces.

    Project Overview

The Sheraton Mianyang sits on the edge of Lake Xianhai in the Xianhai National Tourism Resort — a 46-km² protected scenic area 26 kilometres from Mianyang city centre, offering a natural setting entirely unlike the urban-tower hotels that dominate most Chinese Sheraton properties. At 342 rooms and suites across a low-rise lakeside complex, the hotel draws on the resort’s extraordinary landscape — lake views from over 70% of guestrooms, 2,000 m² of lakeside outdoor lawn and terrace event space, and a children’s resort programme anchored by an indoor-outdoor dual fantasy playground — to deliver a complete leisure and family holiday destination that happens also to carry one of the world’s most trusted business hotel brands. Zhobai’s FF&E scope covered every guest-facing space in the property, from the individually specified guestrooms to the &More shared-work lobby and the lakeside terrace dining furniture.

Design Vision: New Sheraton Meets Sichuan

The “New Era” Sheraton design language abandons the traditional hotel lobby — a formal reception hall separating arriving guests from the rest of the building — in favour of an open, activity-rich community space that Sheraton calls the “Social Hub.” At Mianyang Xianhai, this concept was translated through the lens of Sichuan’s extraordinary craft and natural heritage: bamboo-weave ceiling panels reference the hand-woven basketry traditions of Sichuan’s artisan communities; pale camphor wood case goods echo the light, warm timber of a Sichuan teahouse; and the lobby’s signature botanical installations bring the forest landscape of Lake Xianhai’s shore inside the building. Zhobai’s design team worked in close collaboration with Marriott’s regional FF&E standards team and the project’s interior architects to develop a complete furniture specification that honours both the global “New Era” brief and the specific cultural intelligence of a property rooted in Sichuan.

    The Social Hub Lobby

The Sheraton “Social Hub” lobby at Mianyang Xianhai is designed around four distinct zones, each furnished by Zhobai as a coherent programme while maintaining visual continuity across the full open-plan space. The primary lounge zone — anchored by a deep modular sofa in a warm ivory performance linen with bamboo-print scatter cushions — faces the lobby’s full-height glazing and the lake view beyond, positioning the landscape as the room’s centrepiece rather than its backdrop. A dedicated co-working long-table zone, furnished with Zhobai’s custom communal desk in pale ash with integrated power and data channels and a series of individual task chairs in a natural mesh back, serves the hotel’s business guests without the formality of a traditional business centre. A quiet acoustic zone — three private telephone-booth structures in pale timber with an upholstered internal bench — provides for confidential calls without requiring a separate room. The lobby café bar area rounds out the Social Hub with a custom counter in hand-lacquered cabinetry and a series of high bar stools and low café tables in a coordinating pale ash.

    Guestroom Furniture Programme

All 342 guestrooms are designed in what the hotel describes as “light wood Neo-Chinese light luxury” — a palette of pale camphor wood, warm ivory linens, and subtle Sichuan craft references that creates a calm, restful atmosphere calibrated to the forest-lake setting outside every window.

Mountain View & Lake View Rooms (41–43 m²)

The hotel’s standard room categories — Deluxe Mountain View and Premium Lake View — share the same generous 41–43 m² footprint and differ primarily in orientation and upholstery accent colour. Zhobai specified a Sheraton-standard Sweet Sleeper bed platform in pale camphor wood veneer with a padded headboard in a quiet off-white cotton-linen blend, floating bedside units with wireless charging and integrated reading lights, and a full wardrobe unit in matching pale timber laminate with push-to-open hardware. The height-adjustable work desk — a Sheraton “New Era” brand standard — is fabricated by Zhobai in a pale stone composite surface with an electric motor sit-stand mechanism, paired with an ergonomic task chair in a natural mesh back and padded arm rests. Lake-view rooms receive a deeper sage-green accent cushion set and curtain lining to complement the lake panorama; mountain-view rooms use a softer terracotta accent palette that references Sichuan’s ochre hillscapes.

    Bathroom Design

Every guestroom bathroom at the Sheraton Mianyang features the wet-dry separated design — an independent deep-soak bathtub and a separate walk-in rainfall shower — that the Sheraton brand specifies as a standard across its full-service resort properties. Zhobai supplied a freestanding soaking bathtub surround in honed white marble composite with floor-mounted brushed champagne gold fittings, a wall-hung double-basin vanity console in pale grey stone composite with a coordinating LED mirror, and a bamboo-motif towel rail in a matte gold finish that connects the bathroom’s hardware to the Sichuan craft references running through the hotel’s interiors.

Lake View Suites & Executive Programme (86–240 m²)

The suite programme ranges from 86 m² Executive Lake View Suites with 270-degree lake panoramas to the 240 m² Premium Resort Suite with an oversized observation terrace and a freestanding bathtub positioned at the picture window for a direct lake view. Zhobai furnished all suite living zones with a bespoke sofa in a warm jade performance fabric with hand-embroidered cushion panels in a Sichuan floral motif, a round coffee table in hand-shaped travertine with a pale gold base, and a console table in pale camphor wood with a delicate bamboo-lattice carved door front. The suite programme’s observation terraces each received a two-seat teak conversation set with cushions in a botanical-print outdoor fabric — an outdoor living zone that extends the suite’s usable area to the lake’s edge.

    Dining Furniture

The hotel’s four food-and-beverage venues each require a distinct furniture character that serves both the programming of the space and the wider resort narrative. The Daily Social all-day dining restaurant — the hotel’s largest F&B venue — was furnished by Zhobai with a programme designed for the full arc of a buffet day: round four-top tables in pale ash for the morning buffet service, a perimeter run of curved banquette booths in a warm camel performance leather for the evening seafood buffet, and a live-station bar counter in hand-lacquered pale grey cabinetry with a honed stone top. The Yue Chinese restaurant received a more ceremonial furniture treatment: round lacquered dining tables with lazy-susan insets in brushed gold hardware, high-back dining chairs in a deep jade brocade with hand-carved camphor wood frames, and six private dining room sets with full bespoke cabinetry in lacquered ebony with bamboo-lattice panel doors.

    Banquet & Meeting Spaces

The hotel’s 1,200 m² of indoor meeting and event space — anchored by an 800 m² pillar-free grand ballroom capable of hosting 700 guests in round-table banquet format or 1,000 in theatre configuration — is complemented by 2,000 m² of outdoor lakeside lawn for the garden weddings, team-building events and al fresco banquets that the Xianhai setting makes uniquely spectacular. Zhobai furnished the grand ballroom with a complete Sheraton-specification banquet package: 72-inch round tables in dark walnut veneer, ballroom chairs in a champagne-gold fabric with a pale timber frame, and a portable staging system in lacquered pale ash. The five syndicate meeting rooms received Zhobai’s modular conference table system in pale ash veneer with integrated cable management, executive chairs in a navy blue mesh-back performance fabric, and perimeter credenzas in a matching timber finish. The boardroom configuration received a fixed oval conference table in solid camphor wood with integrated power and data, paired with high-back leather chairs in a warm tan cowhide.

    Wellness & Family Facilities

The hotel’s wellness and family amenity programme is a primary driver of its commercial success as northern Sichuan’s leading family resort. The panoramic indoor heated pool — visible from the lake-facing guestroom floors and maintained at a constant 28°C year-round — was furnished by Zhobai with a full poolside package: sun loungers in marine-grade aluminium with UV-stable mesh slings, paired side tables and a family section with lower-profile child-scale loungers in a bright coral fabric. The sky fitness centre, equipped with a full LifeFitness cardio and strength suite and a dedicated yoga studio, received Zhobai’s equipment-surround console in pale camphor wood with stainless steel detailing and frameless floor-height mirror panels in a bamboo-motif border frame.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Delivering the complete FF&E programme for the Asia-Pacific’s designated flagship Sheraton “New Era” prototype — subject to the most rigorous Marriott brand compliance review applied to any Sheraton opening in the region that year — required Zhobai to operate at the highest standard of its design, manufacturing and project management capability. The delivery model ran across four structured phases:

    1. Design Collaboration & Brand Compliance (Months 1–4): Zhobai’s senior design team participated in brand compliance review sessions with Marriott’s global FF&E standards team, producing full FF&E schedules, material sample submissions and 3D room visualisations. As the Asia-Pacific prototype property, this hotel’s specifications were reviewed by Marriott’s global Sheraton brand leadership — not merely the regional team — before any item entered production. A complete physical mock-up guestroom was constructed in Zhobai’s Guangdong facility and signed off at this level before mass production commenced.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 5–10): All furniture was produced at Zhobai’s ISO 9001-certified workshops. The height-adjustable desk units were subject to 10,000-cycle motor endurance testing before shipment. Camphor wood carved panels underwent moisture-content testing to ensure stability in Sichuan’s humid climate. All upholstered pieces received fire-retardancy certification per GB 17927 and a 50,000-cycle Martindale abrasion test to Marriott’s contract fabric standard.
    3. Logistics & Resort Delivery (Month 11): All container loads were coordinated to the Xianhai resort site via the Mianyang city road network, with deliveries scheduled to avoid the resort’s peak weekend visitor traffic. On-site staging areas were established in coordination with the hotel’s main contractor to manage the delivery flow of 342 rooms’ worth of furniture through a resort compound under simultaneous finishing trades.
    4. On-Site Installation & Snagging (Month 12): A Zhobai installation team of 25 technicians completed the full fit-out over seven weeks. As the Asia-Pacific prototype, the final pre-opening snagging walkthrough involved Marriott’s global Sheraton brand team in addition to the hotel’s general management — a sign-off process that Zhobai’s installation quality passed without condition.

    Result

Sheraton Mianyang Xianhai Lake Resort opened in July 2021 to immediate industry recognition and strong commercial performance. As Marriott’s designated Asia-Pacific Sheraton “New Era” prototype, the property has since served as the design and operational benchmark for subsequent Sheraton openings across the region. The hotel achieved the highest guest satisfaction scores of any Sheraton opening in China in 2021, with furniture quality, the open lobby concept and the lakeside suite experience most frequently cited as differentiating guest highlights. For Zhobai, the project represents the most significant brand-compliance FF&E programme we have delivered — an Asia-Pacific industry benchmark produced from our Guangdong workshops to global hotel brand prototype specification.

  • Shangri-La Nanshan Shenzhen FF&E Project

    Shangri-La Nanshan Shenzhen FF&E Project

At 300 metres above Shenzhen Bay, occupying floors 66 to 79 of the Shenzhen Bay Headquarters Super Base tower in Nanshan District, Shangri-La Nanshan, Shenzhen opened in January 2024 as one of the most anticipated hotel launches in China — and one of the most ambitious expressions of Lingnan hospitality culture ever realised at altitude. Designed by CCD (Cheng Chung Design), the world’s leading hospitality interior design practice, the 272-key property was conceived around the poetic concept of “百鸟归巢” — a hundred birds returning to the nest — interpreted as a sky courtyard whose four facades frame four entirely different panoramas: Shenzhen Bay and the South China Sea to the south, the Gulf sunset to the west, World of Intangible Cultural Heritage fireworks to the east, and Overseas Chinese Town Wetland to the north. Zhobai was honoured to be appointed as the one-stop hotel furniture FF&E supplier for this landmark project — producing and installing the complete furniture programme across every guest-facing space of a building that has become, in its first year of operation, one of China’s most celebrated hotel interiors.

    Project Overview

The Shangri-La Nanshan occupies a singular position in Shenzhen’s hotel landscape. Connected directly to Shenzhen Bay Mall and steps from the Red Tree Bay South metro interchange — linking Lines 2, 9 and 11 — the hotel serves Nanshan’s extraordinary concentration of technology headquarters: Tencent, DJI, Huawei’s R&D campus and dozens of global tech companies whose senior executives make up a significant portion of the hotel’s in-house corporate clientele. At the same time, its panoramic position and the drama of CCD’s interior design programme have made it a social media phenomenon: a destination hotel in its own right for Chinese and international guests who travel specifically to experience the sky courtyard, the 360-degree views and the Lingnan garden narrative at altitude. Zhobai’s FF&E brief spanned 272 guestrooms and suites, four food-and-beverage venues, over 2,200 m² of meeting and event space, and the hotel’s 77th-floor wellness facilities — all held to CCD’s exacting design specification.

Design Vision: Eastern Spirit, Western Setting

CCD’s design philosophy for the Shangri-La Nanshan — expressed in the Chinese phrase “东意西境” (Eastern Spirit, Western Setting) — proposes a hotel that is unmistakably Chinese in its cultural references while operating at the standard of the world’s finest contemporary luxury properties. The primary design metaphor is the Lingnan (岭南) garden tradition of the Pearl River Delta: the enclosed courtyard, the carved stone screen, the interplay of water, bamboo and filtered light, the sense of a private world of calm within a city of extraordinary energy. Zhobai’s design team worked with CCD’s specification from the very first production drawing, translating the studio’s vision into furniture pieces that carry the Lingnan narrative in their materials and detail — hand-carved lattice panels in solid camphor wood, upholstery in silk-blend fabrics carrying abstract Lingnan botanical weave patterns, hardware in aged brass with a surface texture referencing traditional Cantonese bronze casting.

    Lobby & Sky Lounge

The hotel’s sky lobby — arriving guests emerge at the 66th floor after a dedicated express elevator ride — is designed as the first act of the Lingnan garden narrative: a light-filled, plant-rich space in which the distinction between indoor and outdoor dissolves. The central lounge is anchored by a bespoke curved sofa in a warm ivory silk-blend upholstery with hand-embroidered botanical cushion panels, surrounded by a composition of round marble-top tables in aged brass bases and individual rattan-back armchairs in a jade-green cotton linen. Carved camphor wood screens — produced by Zhobai’s specialist joinery division — partition the lounge zones without closing them off, creating the visual layering of a traditional Lingnan courtyard within a 66th-floor open-plan space. Every piece of lobby furniture is positioned to frame a view — of the interior garden installation, of the sky atrium above, or of the Shenzhen Bay panorama through the full-height glazing.

    Guestroom Furniture Programme

All 272 guestrooms occupy the 67th to 75th floors — a vertical hotel-within-a-tower in which every room is a panoramic observatory. The “annular” layout of the guestroom floors wraps the sky atrium on all four sides, ensuring that no room looks into another and every window faces a major view orientation. This singular architecture shaped every furniture decision: pieces positioned to draw the eye toward the window, not away from it; storage solutions that keep floor space uncluttered; and material choices that warm the necessarily minimal palette required to avoid visual competition with the view.

    Deluxe Rooms (43 m²)

The hotel’s entry-level Deluxe rooms set a quality baseline that most five-star properties reserve for their mid-tier category. Zhobai specified a bed platform in solid walnut with an upholstered headboard in a heavyweight silk-blend fabric carrying a subtle Lingnan orchid lattice pattern — a reference to the carved stone panels of a Guangzhou courtyard garden. Integrated floating bedside shelves carry wireless charging pads and recessed directional reading lights. The signature birdcage minibar unit — a CCD design icon for the property, referencing the “hundred birds” concept — was fabricated by Zhobai’s specialist joinery team as a bespoke piece: a hand-lacquered cylindrical cabinet in ebony-toned timber with a domed top and a fine brass wire mesh outer casing, housing the room’s minibar within a piece of decorative sculpture. The writing desk is a full-width honed stone composite slab with a recessed cable-management channel, positioned flush against the floor-to-ceiling window to deliver an uninterrupted view while working.

    Bathroom Design

Bathrooms across all guestroom categories are furnished to a specification that matches the room’s decorative ambition. Zhobai supplied a freestanding bathtub in honed white Carrara marble composite — positioned at the window in rooms where orientation permits — with floor-mounted brushed brass tap fittings. The double-basin vanity console is in solid walnut with a hand-ground stone basin top and an integrated LED mirror spanning the full vanity width. The Lingnan carved screen motif recurs in the bathroom as a hand-cut stone tile pattern in the shower surround — a detail that required close coordination between Zhobai’s furniture fabrication and the main contractor’s tile installation teams to achieve the precise material interface CCD’s specification required.

    Executive Suite (86 m²)

The Executive Suite’s 270-degree bay view orientation — simultaneously capturing Shenzhen Bay, the South China Sea horizon and the western Gulf sunset — demanded a living zone composition that honours the panorama without subordinating the interior. Zhobai supplied a bespoke modular sofa in a deep jade silk-blend velvet arranged in an L-configuration to face the corner glazing, a custom cocktail table in hand-shaped suiseki stone with a solid brass base, and a pair of Lingnan-inspired barrel chairs in a hand-blocked cotton print. The suite’s dedicated study zone features a custom writing desk in lacquered ebony with a hand-applied gold leaf geometric border — a piece that reads as art as much as furniture when the laptop is closed.

    Dining Furniture

The hotel’s four food-and-beverage venues each express a distinct dimension of the Lingnan hospitality narrative. The flagship all-day dining venue Ji · 66 on the 66th floor — a Lingnan garden courtyard transported to altitude — was furnished by Zhobai with a programme designed to feel as much like a garden pavilion as a restaurant: dining tables in pale ash with a hand-rubbed oil finish, woven rattan dining chairs with a padded back cushion in a soft jade linen, and a central island banquette in a warm terracotta silk weave framed by hanging botanical installations. The warm-toned lounge and café zone adjacent to the lobby received a contrasting furniture character — deep amber leather club chairs, smoked glass side tables and a custom café counter in hand-lacquered cabinetry with a live-edge stone top — creating an intimate contrast to the garden restaurant’s openness.

    Banquet & Meeting Spaces

The hotel’s 2,200 m² of meeting and event space — spanning five rooms including a grand ballroom — operates with the natural light and sky-high views that no ground-floor convention centre can offer. The grand ballroom, configured for gala dinners, high-profile corporate launches and intimate luxury weddings, was furnished by Zhobai with a full banquet package: long imperial-style tables in dark hand-lacquered timber for the property’s signature “sky banquet” dinners, and the full round-table banquet programme for conventional conference and wedding formats — 72-inch tables in book-matched ebony veneer, ballroom chairs in a pale gold silk with hand-stitched back panels, and a portable staging system in lacquered ebony that matches the room’s architectural finish. The meeting rooms were furnished with Zhobai’s executive conference table in solid walnut with integrated cable management, executive leather chairs in a deep cognac, and bespoke credenzas in a camphor wood veneer with carved lattice door fronts.

Wellness: The 77th Floor Sky Sanctuary

The hotel’s wellness facilities on the 77th floor — an indoor heated pool, a fitness centre, a spa and a yoga studio — occupy a position that transforms the act of exercise into a panoramic spectacle. Zhobai furnished the pool surround with a poolside leisure package: sun loungers in marine-grade aluminium with a hand-woven rattan wrap on the frame, side tables in a powder-coated bronze finish with a smoked glass top, and poolside privacy screens in a camphor wood lattice panel — a material that connects the pool area’s furniture to the Lingnan screens of the lobby six floors below. The sky fitness centre received a custom equipment-surround console in dark-stained timber and brushed bronze steel, with frameless floor-height mirror panels in a Lingnan lattice-patterned border frame.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Delivering a complete FF&E programme for a CCD-designed flagship Shangri-La property in a high-rise tower — where every piece is subject to the scrutiny of one of the world’s most exacting hospitality design practices and one of Asia’s most trusted luxury hotel brands — set the highest standard Zhobai has operated to in its project history. The delivery model ran across four phases:

    1. Design Collaboration & CCD Compliance (Months 1–4): Zhobai’s senior design team participated in weekly review sessions with CCD’s project team, producing full production drawings, material sample submissions and physical prototypes for every custom piece in the specification. The birdcage minibar unit, the carved camphor wood screens and the hand-embroidered headboard panels each required multiple prototype rounds before receiving CCD and Shangri-La’s joint sign-off. A complete mock-up guestroom was constructed in Zhobai’s Guangdong facility and reviewed in person by CCD’s principal and Shangri-La’s regional quality director.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 5–11): The project’s exceptionally high proportion of bespoke and handcrafted items — carved screens, hand-lacquered case goods, hand-embroidered textiles — required a dedicated production team of 60 craftspeople working exclusively on this project for seven months. All items underwent the full Shangri-La contract specification test battery plus a supplementary altitude-logistics test: vibration resistance testing to simulate the freight elevator transportation from street level to floor 79 of a 300-metre tower.
    3. Vertical Logistics & Delivery (Month 12): Coordinating the delivery of furniture to a 79-floor tower in Shenzhen’s Nanshan CBD — with strict building management protocols governing freight elevator access and loading dock scheduling — required Zhobai’s logistics team to work in three-hour freight window slots, seven days a week, over a four-week delivery period.
    4. On-Site Installation & CCD Sign-Off (Months 12–13): Zhobai’s installation team of 30 technicians completed the full fit-out over seven weeks, with each floor subject to a joint CCD-Shangri-La-Zhobai snagging walkthrough before being released to the hotel’s pre-opening operations team.

    Result

Shangri-La Nanshan, Shenzhen opened in January 2024 to immediate critical acclaim — recognised by the Chinese hospitality media as one of the most significant hotel openings in the country’s recent history and celebrated internationally as a benchmark expression of contemporary Lingnan luxury. The hotel achieved full occupancy within its first month and has been booked to capacity on major holiday periods since opening, driven in equal measure by corporate demand from Nanshan’s technology district and leisure demand from guests who travel specifically to experience the sky courtyard and the 300-metre panorama. CCD’s Cheng Chung has cited the Shangri-La Nanshan as among his practice’s most complete realised works — and Zhobai’s furniture production is an inseparable part of that realisation.

  • Kempinski Hotel Guiyang Luxury FF&E Project

Kempinski Hotel Guiyang Luxury FF&E Project

At 230 metres above Guiyang’s city centre, occupying floors 29 to 53 of Guizhou’s tallest skyscraper, Kempinski Hotel Guiyang (贵阳凯宾斯基大酒店) commands one of the most dramatic hotel positions in southwest China. Opened in 2012 and comprehensively refurbished in 2024, this 366-key flagship property brings the full weight of Kempinski’s century-old European luxury tradition to the capital of Guizhou — a province whose remarkable natural landscapes, ancient ethnic cultures and emerging technology economy have transformed it into one of China’s most compelling destinations. Zhobai was appointed to deliver the complete hotel furniture FF&E solution for the 2024 renovation, refurnishing every guest-facing space across guestrooms, suites, lobby, dining, bar and conference facilities to the exacting standards demanded by one of Europe’s oldest and most respected luxury hotel brands.

    Project Overview

Kempinski Hotel Guiyang occupies a defining position in the city’s CBD — within five minutes of Guiyang Railway Station, ten minutes from Longtongbao International Airport, and walking distance from the historic Jiaxiu Tower, the Nanming River embankment and the city’s most vibrant commercial districts. Its 366 rooms and suites span 25 floors of a building that is itself a Guiyang landmark, offering panoramic city and river views from every guestroom and reaching its apogee at the 53rd-floor executive lounge and sky bar — at 230 metres, the highest hospitality venue in the province. After twelve years of operation as Guiyang’s premier luxury address, the 2024 refurbishment was designed to reset the hotel’s physical standards for the next decade of service.

    The 2024 Renovation Brief

Kempinski’s renovation brief for the Guiyang property had three objectives: to update the hotel’s furniture and material palette to the brand’s current global design standards; to integrate the smart-room technology infrastructure that guests of a 2024 five-star hotel expect — intelligent toilets, projectable televisions, app-based climate and lighting control; and to honour the hotel’s position in Guizhou by introducing subtle local cultural references that differentiate the property from a generic international luxury hotel without undermining Kempinski’s signature European elegance. For Zhobai, this translated into the most technically demanding FF&E specification in the project’s scope: furniture that conceals technology elegantly, performs to commercial standards over a decade of intensive use, and carries local meaning in its materials and detail.

Design Language: European Luxury at Chinese Altitude

Kempinski’s brand design language is rooted in European classical tradition — symmetry, quality of material, precision of craft — reinterpreted through a contemporary lens that avoids period pastiche. For Guiyang, the design team introduced a secondary reference drawn from Guizhou’s extraordinary cultural landscape: the silver jewellery traditions of the Miao people, expressed as fine geometric inlay work in brass and oxidised metal on furniture edges and cabinet fronts; the indigo-dyed textiles of the Buyi ethnic group, interpreted in deep navy accent upholstery; and the dramatic karst topography of the province, reflected in the irregular natural stone surfaces of the lobby and restaurant feature walls. Zhobai’s design team worked from the earliest concept stage to ensure that these cultural references were expressed with restraint and sophistication rather than literal reproduction.

    Lobby & Bar Furniture

The hotel’s main lobby — a double-height arrival hall at the base of the tower, opening upward to the elevator banks that carry guests to their sky-high rooms — required furniture that communicates luxury instantly, handles the throughput of a 366-key CBD hotel, and photograph exceptionally well for a property at which Instagram-worthy moments are part of the guest value proposition. Zhobai supplied a custom reception island in book-matched emperador marble with a hand-lacquered cabinetry base in Kempinski’s signature deep navy, brass-capped edge detailing and integrated LED uplighting that casts a warm glow across the stone surface. The lobby lounge seating programme — modular sofas in deep cognac leather, occasional chairs in a navy-and-gold stripe velvet, and low side tables in blackened steel with glass tops — creates a series of conversation zones that feel simultaneously intimate and grand.

    Guestroom Furniture Programme

The 366-key guestroom programme spans five floors of the tower above the 29th floor — a vertical hotel in which every room is a high-rise experience. The primary categories are Panoramic Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms with lounge access, Deluxe Suites and the 285 m² Presidential Suite on the 53rd floor.

    Panoramic Deluxe Rooms (40–45 m²)

The hotel’s entry-level room category starts at 40 square metres — already generous by any standard — with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Guiyang cityscape and the Nanming River as a living artwork. Zhobai specified a bed platform in dark-stained walnut with a channel-quilted headboard in a deep navy performance fabric, integrated floating bedside units with wireless charging pads, and a full-width credenza in ebony-toned timber with Miao-inspired brass inlay detailing on the drawer fronts. The writing desk — positioned directly at the window to maximise the city view — is a live-edge walnut slab on a powder-coated steel frame, paired with a Kempinski-standard task chair in navy leather with brass leg caps.

    Room Entry & Circulation

Each guestroom entry corridor is furnished as a deliberate arrival sequence — a Kempinski brand standard that Zhobai honoured in every room. A wall-mounted console in dark walnut veneer with a recessed ceramic display surface and a frameless backlit mirror create the first impression. The wardrobe unit opposite — in floor-to-ceiling lacquered cabinetry with push-to-open hardware — conceals the smart-room control panel, safe, iron and minibar within a seamless timber facade that reads as pure furniture rather than a functional cluster of hotel hardware.

    Bathroom Furniture

Kempinski’s bathroom standard calls for the double-vanity configuration in all room categories — a decision that drove a significant portion of Zhobai’s custom manufacturing programme. Each bathroom received a wall-hung double-basin vanity in honed Calacatta marble composite with solid brass tap fittings, a frameless LED mirror spanning the full vanity width with touch-sensor colour-temperature control, and a freestanding vanity stool in solid oak with a saddle-leather seat. The intelligent toilet unit is integrated seamlessly within a Zhobai-fabricated timber housing that matches the room’s wardrobe cabinetry finish, ensuring the bathroom’s technology is experienced as a feature rather than an appliance.

    Dining Furniture

The hotel’s dining programme spans four distinct venues across multiple floors, each requiring a furniture language calibrated to its service style and guest profile. The flagship Yulongxuan Chinese Restaurant on the second floor — serving premium Cantonese cuisine and Guizhou specialities in an atmosphere of considered ceremony — received Zhobai’s most formal dining furniture: round lacquered tables in dark ebony veneer with hand-turned lazy-susan inserts, high-back dining chairs in a silk-brocade upholstery drawing from traditional Guizhou ceremonial textiles, and private dining room sets with custom cabinet-work in lacquered timber with brass hardware. The VIP dining suites are furnished as complete rooms — console table, credenza, occasional chairs and artwork-lighting shelves — treating the private dining experience with the same furniture thoroughness as a Presidential Suite.

The Elements Western Restaurant — serving a European-Chinese all-day buffet including German specialities, fresh seafood and local Guizhou sour soup — received a contrasting, lighter furniture register: pale oak dining tables with removable inserts for flexible group configuration, bistro-style upholstered chairs in a stripe-weave performance fabric, and a custom buffet counter fabricated by Zhobai’s Guangdong workshop with integrated hot and cold service zones, live cooking stations and a display dessert counter in honed stone composite.

    Meeting & Event Spaces

The hotel’s 2,400 m² of meeting and event space — spanning nine multifunctional rooms and a pillar-free 1,000 m² grand ballroom — forms the cornerstone of the hotel’s corporate business. Guiyang’s growing significance as a technology and data industry hub has brought a new tier of international corporate conference business to the city, and the Kempinski’s meeting facilities are central to capturing that market. Zhobai supplied the full conference furniture package: modular conference tables with integrated power and data management channels in dark walnut veneer, executive leather chairs with lumbar adjustment and five-point castor bases, and perimeter credenzas for equipment storage and refreshment staging. The theatre-configuration spaces received Zhobai’s linked lecture chair in a dark navy upholstery with flip-top writing tablet and integrated power point — a configuration that seats up to 200 delegates in a single space without visual clutter.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Refurnishing a live, 366-key five-star skyscraper hotel — operational throughout the renovation period — required a project management methodology as disciplined as the hotel’s own service standards. Zhobai’s delivery model ran across four structured phases:

    1. Design Collaboration & Brand Compliance (Months 1–3): Zhobai’s design team worked directly with the hotel’s interior architects and Kempinski’s global brand standards team, producing detailed FF&E schedules, material sample submissions and 3D room visualisations for every room category and public space. A complete physical mock-up room was built and signed off by Kempinski’s regional quality director before mass production commenced — a non-negotiable step for a brand that maintains design consistency across its global portfolio.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 4–9): All furniture was produced at Zhobai’s ISO 9001-certified Guangdong workshops. Each production batch underwent dimensional inspection, surface-finish durability testing per ASTM D4060 Taber abrasion standards, and fire-retardancy certification meeting both GB 17927 and Kempinski’s internal specification for contract upholstery. Smart-technology integration points — cable management channels, device housing recesses, charging pad interfaces — were fabricated to precise engineering tolerances and tested against the room’s technology specification before leaving the factory.
    3. Logistics & Vertical Delivery (Months 10–11): Delivering furniture to floors 29–53 of an occupied skyscraper in the heart of Guiyang’s CBD requires a logistics operation unlike any ground-floor hotel project. Zhobai coordinated with the building management team and the hotel’s operations director to schedule freight elevator slots during minimum-disruption periods, with dedicated floor coordinators managing the delivery sequence to avoid corridor congestion on active guestroom floors.
    4. Phased Installation & Snagging (Months 11–12): Working floor by floor across the tower, Zhobai’s installation team of 24 technicians completed the full fit-out over eight weeks. Each floor was returned to the hotel’s operational inventory within 72 hours of installation completion, passing Kempinski’s pre-opening room inspection protocol before accepting guests.

    Result

The 2024 refurbishment repositioned Kempinski Hotel Guiyang as the definitive five-star address in Guizhou’s capital for a new decade — with updated furniture that meets the visual and functional expectations of today’s international luxury traveller while carrying the local cultural intelligence that distinguishes a great hotel from a generic one. Guest reviews since the renovation have specifically cited the room furniture quality, the desk-to-window view experience, and the bathroom double-vanity as highlights of the refreshed product. The hotel has maintained its top rating among Guiyang’s luxury properties on major travel platforms since reopening.

For Zhobai, the project represents a further milestone in our luxury-segment hotel furniture capability: managing a live-hotel refurbishment in a vertical property with complex logistics constraints, to the exacting specification of one of Europe’s oldest luxury hotel brands, delivered on schedule and on budget as a single, fully accountable FF&E partner.

Jolie Vue Hotel Yulin Island Resort FF&E

Rising from a private island on the tranquil waters of Yudong Lake in Yulin, Guangxi, Jolie Vue Hotel Yulin (璟象大酒店) opened in November 2020 as one of the most distinctive resort addresses in southwestern China — and in August 2025, it became Yulin’s first officially rated five-star tourism hotel. Developed and self-managed by the Fuda Group, the 190-key island retreat fuses Lingnan architectural tradition with subtropical resort sensibility, delivering a complete leisure and business destination that is simultaneously private island escape, luxury conference venue and family holiday resort. Zhobai was appointed as the one-stop hotel furniture FF&E supplier for the project, producing and installing the complete furniture programme across every guest-facing space — from lakefront guestrooms and panoramic suites to the lobby, dining halls, banquet facilities and wellness centre.

    Project Overview

The Jolie Vue occupies a unique island site on Yudong Lake in Yulin’s Yudong New District — surrounded by water on all sides and connected to the mainland by a covered bridge that delivers guests directly to the lakeside promenade. Its 190 rooms and suites are arranged to maximise lake views: 180-degree Yudong Lake panoramas from every lakeside room, direct sightlines to the Garden Expo Park and the distant hills of western Guangxi, and a building orientation that captures the lake’s reflective light at every hour of the day. The hotel’s island setting means that furniture quality and environmental appropriateness are non-negotiable: pieces must withstand the humidity and salt air of a permanent waterfront environment while projecting the quiet confidence expected of a five-star government reception hotel.

Design Vision: Lingnan Heritage Meets Subtropical Light Luxury

The interior design language draws on two complementary traditions. The first is the Lingnan (岭南) architectural heritage of the Pearl River Delta and its extension into Guangxi — expressed through carved limestone screens, terracotta tile accents, latticed timber panels and an indoor-outdoor spatial philosophy that dissolves the boundary between garden and interior. The second is a contemporary light-luxury vocabulary appropriate to a new-generation resort: clean geometry, a warm neutral palette of sand, pale ash and washed stone, and a deliberate restraint that allows the lake view — always visible through full-height glazing — to remain the dominant visual element of every space. Zhobai’s design collaboration team worked from the earliest concept stage, translating this layered brief into a furniture specification that is sophisticated in detail yet unobtrusive in presence.

    Lobby & Public Spaces

The hotel’s main lobby is a double-height arrival hall that opens directly toward the lake — a spatial sequence designed so that the first thing every arriving guest sees is water. Zhobai supplied the complete lobby furniture package: a reception counter in honed grey stone with a backlit translucent panel and brass-capped edge detailing; a central lounge arrangement of deep-cushioned sectional sofas in warm ivory performance linen with jade-green botanical-print scatter cushions; a series of low marble-top tables in pale gold bases; and individual rattan-back accent chairs placed near the glazed lake frontage to capture the best view positions. All upholstered lobby pieces use Zhobai’s hospitality-specification high-resilience foam core, rated for commercial use cycles far exceeding the industry standard for a five-star property.

    Guestroom Furniture Programme

All 190 rooms begin at 40 m² — a generous baseline that gives Zhobai’s furniture programme room to breathe. The lake view is the property’s primary commercial asset, and every furniture placement decision was made with the view as the reference point: beds oriented to face the water, desks positioned at the window, lounge chairs angled toward the lake.

Lake View Rooms (King & Twin)

The lakeside king and twin rooms are the hotel’s workhorse category, and Zhobai specified furniture that performs reliably over a long commercial life while reading as genuinely luxurious on arrival. The bed platform is crafted from pale ash with an upholstered headboard in a subtle botanical weave — warm, textural and well-suited to the room’s subtropical palette. Integrated bedside units carry wireless charging pads and recessed reading lights. Twin-bed rooms use a mirrored furniture layout with matching individual bedside tables and a central console that serves both beds equally, ensuring the twin configuration feels as considered as the king.

    Business & Executive Rooms

The hotel’s business and executive rooms serve Yulin’s growing corporate and government delegate market. Zhobai specified a full-width work surface in warm stone composite running beneath the window — a desk that is practical for a full working day while offering an uninterrupted lake panorama that makes extended stays genuinely pleasurable. A high-backed ergonomic task chair in cognac leather and a separate lounge chair in natural linen provide the work-rest balance that extended-stay business guests require.

    Room Details & Amenities

Across all standard room categories, Zhobai supplied a coordinated set of ancillary furniture pieces that elevate the guest experience: a lounge corner with a single rattan-framed accent chair and a low side table for the room’s private sitting zone; a dedicated coffee and minibar unit in lacquered cabinetry with integrated refrigerator housing; and a full wardrobe and entry corridor unit in pale oak veneer with a mirrored door panel that amplifies the room’s natural light. These individual pieces were designed as a coherent family of objects — consistent in timber tone, hardware finish and proportion — so that even the smallest detail reads as intentional.

    Balcony Furniture

Every lake-facing room at the Jolie Vue is fitted with a private balcony — a non-negotiable design feature of the property’s island concept. Zhobai furnished all balconies with a two-seat teak conversation set: two lounge chairs with moisture-resistant cushions in a stripe-weave outdoor fabric, and a slatted teak side table sized for a breakfast tray or evening drinks. The teak is finished in a UV-stable marine oil that handles the year-round humidity of a lakeside environment without requiring guest maintenance.

    Bathroom Design

A signature amenity across all room categories is the oversized soaking bathtub — positioned at the window wherever room orientation permits, creating an immersive lake-view bathing experience that has become the hotel’s most-shared social media moment. Zhobai supplied freestanding bathtub surrounds in honed white marble composite, wall-hung vanity consoles in moisture-resistant solid surface material with integrated basins, and full-height LED mirror panels with touch-sensor controls. The wet-dry separation design across all bathrooms uses Zhobai’s custom-profiled shower screen frames in a brushed champagne gold finish that coordinates with the room’s brass hardware throughout.

    Suites (70–Presidential)

The hotel’s suite programme ranges from 70 m² lake view suites to the Presidential Suite with panoramic lake terraces. Zhobai furnished the one-bedroom suite living rooms with a custom three-seat sofa in a botanical-print performance velvet, a round marble-top dining table for in-suite entertaining, and a bespoke console table in dark walnut with hand-inlaid brass detailing behind the sofa. Suite entry corridors are treated as curated arrival sequences — Zhobai supplied custom wall-console tables in lacquered cabinetry with ceramic display surfaces and coordinating artwork-lighting shelving — transforming the functional transition from door to living room into a deliberate moment of luxury.

    Family & Kids Suite

The hotel’s family-focused rooms include bespoke children’s furniture elements produced by Zhobai: a bunk-bed unit in a rounded, safety-first profile with integrated ladder and guardrail in natural birch, a low play table with stool seating sized for younger children, and a dedicated kids’ storage unit with picture-rail display bars — all manufactured to EN 71 toy safety standards for surface finishes and edge radii, ensuring the family suite delivers genuine peace of mind for parents alongside the playful aesthetic.

    Dining Furniture

The hotel’s three food-and-beverage venues each required a distinct furniture character. The Jingxiang Chinese Restaurant — the hotel’s flagship dining venue serving Yulin-style cuisine, Cantonese dim sum and fresh seafood — was furnished with a formal round-table programme: dark lacquered dining tables with lazy-susan inserts in hand-polished brass fittings, high-back dining chairs in deep red silk-weave brocade with carved solid wood frames, and a series of private dining room furniture sets for the large VIP suites that accommodate up to 20 guests. The restaurant’s booth seating along the perimeter uses Zhobai’s custom curved banquette sections upholstered in a contrasting warm gold leather, providing an intimate alternative to the formal round-table arrangement.

The 7th-floor Aili Fang Restaurant and the atrium café dining hall received lighter, more contemporary furniture treatments: pale ash dining tables, rattan-back bistro chairs in a natural linen seat pad, and a custom buffet counter with integrated hot and cold service zones fabricated by Zhobai’s Guangdong workshop. The lakeside café lounge — the property’s informal social hub — was furnished with low lounge chairs in sage green bouclé and hammered copper side tables that catch the lakeside light at sunset.

    Banquet & Meeting Spaces

The hotel’s pillar-free 1,000 m² grand ballroom — capable of hosting 500 guests for a gala dinner — is the premier event venue in Yulin and a significant source of the hotel’s corporate revenue. Zhobai furnished the ballroom with 72-inch round banquet tables in dark walnut veneer, ballroom chairs in champagne velvet with gold-lacquered frames, a portable staging system and a head-table furniture set in matching lacquered timber. The pre-function lobby — the first space event guests encounter — received a series of statement console tables, upholstered bench seating and tall decorative planters that create a formal reception atmosphere before the ballroom doors open.

    Wellness & Fitness

Zhobai furnished the hotel’s fitness centre with a custom equipment-surround console in dark stained timber and stainless steel housing personal accessory storage, towel stations and mirror panels in a frameless brass surround. The indoor heated pool area received marine-grade aluminium sun loungers with UV-stable mesh slings and folding side tables. The children’s pool and play areas were furnished with Zhobai’s safety-rated children’s poolside range — low-profile loungers in rounded aluminium profiles with brightly coloured cushions — creating a distinct, playful zone within the resort’s overall refined aesthetic.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Delivering a complete FF&E programme for a 190-key island hotel — accessible only via a covered bridge, with limited on-site staging area — required a delivery and installation strategy as distinctive as the hotel itself. Zhobai’s project ran across four phases:

    1. Design Collaboration & Mock-Up (Months 1–4): Zhobai’s design team worked alongside the hotel’s interior architects from concept stage, producing full FF&E schedules, material sample boards and 3D room visualisations for every category. A complete mock-up guestroom was constructed and approved by the hotel’s ownership team and Fuda Group’s quality panel before mass production commenced.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 5–10): All furniture was produced at Zhobai’s Guangdong workshops under ISO 9001-certified quality management. Every piece underwent finish durability testing, fire-retardancy certification per GB 17927, and a humidity chamber soak test appropriate to the hotel’s permanent lakeside environment. Bathroom furniture components were sealed to IP44 moisture-resistance standards throughout.
    3. Logistics & Island Delivery (Month 11): All container loads were scheduled to cross the hotel’s access bridge during low-traffic windows, coordinated with the main contractor’s floor-by-floor handover programme to avoid congestion on the island’s limited circulation roads.
    4. On-Site Installation & Snagging (Month 12): A Zhobai installation team of 20 technicians completed the full fit-out over eight weeks. A joint pre-opening snagging walkthrough with the hotel’s general manager and Fuda Group’s project team ensured every space met the five-star specification before the hotel’s inaugural opening in November 2020.

    Result

Jolie Vue Hotel Yulin opened to immediate commercial and critical success — and in August 2025, it achieved the milestone of becoming Yulin’s first officially certified five-star tourism hotel, a recognition that validated both the property’s physical quality and its operational standards. Guest reviews consistently cite the lake view rooms, the balcony soaking tub experience and the lobby’s arrival atmosphere as the hotel’s standout physical elements. The hotel has maintained a rating above 4.9 on major Chinese travel platforms since opening, regularly appearing in lists of Guangxi’s top resort addresses.

For Zhobai, the Jolie Vue project demonstrates the full breadth of our one-stop hotel furniture capability: from the first design conversation on a blank-slate island site to the final pre-opening sign-off, a single accountable partner managing design, manufacturing, island logistics and complete installation — delivering a five-star furniture programme that the property has carried with pride for five years and counting.

  • Wyndham Baise Resort Hotel Five-Star FF&E

Wyndham Baise Resort Hotel Five-Star FF&E

Positioned on the banks of the Youjiang River in Baise, Guangxi, Wyndham Baise Resort Hotel opened in 2020 as the city’s flagship five-star property and the first Wyndham-branded resort in this rapidly developing corner of southwest China. Developed by Guangxi Baito Group and operated under Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ global standards, the 301-key resort combines Chinese garden aesthetics with contemporary light-luxury design, offering a complete destination experience — guestrooms, dining, international conference facilities and a full wellness suite — against the backdrop of one of Guangxi’s most scenic riverside settings. Zhobai was appointed as the one-stop hotel furniture FF&E supplier for the project, delivering the complete furniture programme across every guest-facing area from the guestrooms and suites to the lobby, dining halls, banquet spaces and recreational facilities.

    Project Overview

The Wyndham Baise Resort occupies a prime waterfront site at No. 8 Huandao Yi Road, Youjiang District — metres from the Youjiang River promenade and adjacent to the Baise Garden Expo Park. At 301 rooms and suites across multiple categories, the hotel serves a dual market: government and corporate delegations attending the city’s 1,200 m² pillar-free international convention centre, and leisure travellers drawn by the resort’s riverside location, indoor heated pool and spa. The property holds an official five-star rating and serves as a designated government reception hotel for Baise, setting an exceptionally high benchmark for furniture quality, durability and presentation.

Design Vision: Where Chinese Garden Meets Modern Light Luxury

The design brief drew from two primary sources of inspiration. The first was the Buluotuo cultural tradition of the Zhuang people of Guangxi — the mythological creation narrative at the heart of Baise’s ethnic heritage — expressed through hand-carved timber screens, latticed stone panels and woven textile patterns throughout the public areas. The second was the contemporary light-luxury language of China’s new-generation resort hotels: clean architectural lines, restrained material palettes of warm stone, lacquered timber and brushed bronze, and expansive glazing that frames the Youjiang River panorama as the property’s defining artwork. Zhobai’s design team worked closely with the hotel’s interior architects to translate this vision into a fully coordinated FF&E programme that honours both references without allowing either to dominate.

    Lobby & Public Circulation

The hotel’s grand lobby is a double-height atrium flooded with natural light through a fully glazed roof structure — a design statement that announces the resort’s ambitions the moment a guest arrives. Zhobai supplied the complete lobby furniture package: a custom reception counter in honed grey marble with a hand-carved timber fascia panel referencing Zhuang ceremonial motifs; a primary lounge arrangement of deep-cushioned modular sofas in warm ivory performance fabric with jade-green accent cushions; a series of round marble-top side tables in bronze-tipped bases; and individual occasional chairs in natural linen distributed across the atrium floor to encourage spontaneous conversation and lingering. Every upholstered lobby piece was manufactured with Zhobai’s hospitality-grade high-resilience foam core, rated for 100,000-cycle seat compression without loss of form.

The lobby’s evening character shifts through carefully positioned lounge seating clusters near the main bar, creating intimate conversation zones that serve the hotel’s after-dinner social programme. Zhobai supplied low club chairs in deep teal velvet and smoked-glass side tables for these evening lounge areas, providing a colour-temperature contrast to the daytime ivory palette that transforms the space from arrival hall to social salon as the sun sets over the Youjiang.

    Corridors & Circulation

With 301 rooms across multiple floors, the hotel’s guestroom corridors represent a significant furniture programme in their own right. Zhobai supplied corridor console tables in dark walnut veneer with ceramic bowl vessels at each lift lobby landing — a hospitality-standard arrival moment that punctuates the journey from lift to room. The corridor carpet and wall panelling interface directly with Zhobai’s skirting trim and door-frame furniture, requiring precise coordination with the main contractor to ensure seamless material transitions. The lower-level circulation routes connecting the main lobby to the convention centre and wellness facilities were furnished with upholstered bench seats at regular intervals — a practical but overlooked detail that improves the guest experience significantly during high-occupancy conference periods.

    Guestroom Furniture Programme

The 301-key guestroom programme covered five distinct categories, each requiring a tailored furniture specification that maintains the property’s overall design coherence while offering a perceptible quality step-up between tiers.

Elegant & Standard Rooms (43–45 m²)

The property’s entry-level Elegant Rooms — at a generous 43 square metres — set a quality baseline well above the market average for the category. Zhobai specified a platform bed in dark-stained solid oak with a quilted fabric headboard in a subtle geometric weave, integrated bedside units with wireless charging pads, and a full-width wardrobe and luggage zone in lacquered cabinetry with push-to-open drawer hardware. The standard room brief required furniture that photographs well for the hotel’s marketing materials, operates reliably under a five-year commercial use cycle, and cleans efficiently for a high-turnover property — a tri-part brief that Zhobai’s production team addressed through material selection, construction specification and surface finish detailing.

Deluxe River View Rooms (45 m²)

The Deluxe River View category is the hotel’s most commercially significant room type — commanding a meaningful premium over garden-view rooms on the strength of the Youjiang panorama visible from every balcony. Zhobai supplied teak balcony furniture for all Deluxe River View rooms: a two-seat conversation set with a slatted table and two lounge chairs in UV-resistant teak oil, sized to make the private balcony a usable outdoor living space rather than a decorative ledge. Interior furniture in these rooms uses a lighter, warmer timber tone than the standard category — pale ash rather than dark oak — to draw the eye toward the river view rather than the furniture itself.

    Bathroom Furniture

A signature feature of all Wyndham Baise guestrooms is the oversized soaking bathtub — a specification that became a differentiating amenity in the hotel’s marketing and a recurring highlight in guest reviews. Zhobai supplied custom freestanding bathtub surrounds in honed white marble composite with brushed bronze floor-mounted filler fittings, a wall-hung vanity console in solid surface material with integrated basin, and a full-height illuminated mirror with a warm-tone LED perimeter. The wet-dry separation design — a requirement across all room categories — was achieved through Zhobai’s custom-profiled shower screen frames in matt bronze, allowing a clean architectural division without compromising the room’s open, spacious feel.

    Suites (70–250 m²)

The suite programme ranges from 70 m² Family and Deluxe Suites to the 250 m² Presidential Suite — a scale that demanded furniture of genuinely residential quality. Zhobai supplied the suite living areas with custom sofas in silk-blend upholstery, a round dining table in honed marble for in-suite entertaining, bespoke cabinetry for the bar and kitchenette areas, and a dedicated bedroom set in lacquered solid wood with individually handcrafted headboard panels. The Presidential Suite received a fully bespoke furniture programme: hand-carved desk and cabinet pieces, a custom king bed frame with a fabric-panelled tester, and a private terrace set in hand-finished teak.

    Dining Furniture

The hotel’s five food-and-beverage venues span a range of service styles from casual all-day dining to private banquet entertaining. The centrepiece is the Buluotuo Chinese Restaurant — named for the Zhuang cultural deity and designed to celebrate the culinary traditions of western Guangxi. Zhobai supplied round banquet tables in dark lacquered timber with lazy-susan inserts, high-back dining chairs upholstered in a brocade fabric drawing from traditional Zhuang textile patterns, and a series of private dining room furniture sets for the venue’s large VIP suites. The all-day dining buffet restaurant received a contrasting, lighter furniture treatment: pale ash tables, rattan-back side chairs and a custom buffet counter with integrated hot and cold zones, designed to feel relaxed and contemporary against the heavier formality of the Chinese banquet hall.

    Banquet & Meeting Spaces

The hotel’s international convention centre — a pillar-free ballroom of 1,200 m² capable of hosting 800 guests — is one of the largest dedicated event spaces in Baise and a primary driver of the hotel’s corporate revenue. Zhobai furnished the ballroom with its full banquet package: 72-inch round banquet tables in dark walnut veneer, banquet chairs in deep red velvet with a gold-lacquered frame appropriate for the ceremonial events this room regularly hosts, and a portable staging system with a coordinated lectern and head-table furniture set. The eight additional meeting rooms and breakout spaces were furnished with Zhobai’s modular conference table system, executive leather chairs and perimeter credenzas — all finished in the dark bronze and walnut palette consistent with the hotel’s overall interior language.

    Wellness & Recreational Facilities

The hotel’s indoor constant-temperature swimming pool — a year-round amenity that has become one of the property’s most-photographed social media features — was furnished by Zhobai with a pool-surround furniture package: sun loungers in marine-grade aluminium with UV-stable mesh slings, stacking side tables with integrated towel storage, and changing-room bench seating in solid teak. The spa treatment rooms received individual furniture sets including massage tables in medical-grade upholstery, attendant stools and towel-warming storage units, while the fitness centre was fitted with equipment arrangement consoles in dark stained timber and stainless steel.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Delivering a complete 301-key five-star hotel FF&E programme in Baise — a city in rapid development but located away from major coastal manufacturing hubs — required Zhobai to manage the full supply chain from its Guangdong production base to final on-site installation in Guangxi. The project ran across four phases:

    1. Design Collaboration (Months 1–4): Zhobai’s design team embedded with the hotel’s interior architects to develop the full FF&E specification — producing sample boards, scaled 3D visualisations and brand compliance documentation for every room category and public space before production commenced. A physical mock-up room was completed and approved by the hotel’s ownership and Wyndham’s regional team before mass production began.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 5–10): All furniture was produced at Zhobai’s ISO 9001-certified Guangdong workshops. Guestroom case goods underwent a 72-hour humidity chamber test for tropical climate durability. Upholstered pieces received GB 17927 fire-retardancy certification and a 50,000-cycle Martindale abrasion test. All bathroom furniture was sealed to IP44 moisture resistance standards.
    3. Logistics & Delivery (Month 11): Zhobai coordinated 18 container loads from Guangdong to Baise via the Nanning–Baise expressway corridor, scheduling deliveries in coordination with the main contractor’s floor-by-floor handover programme.
    4. On-Site Installation & Snagging (Month 12): A Zhobai installation team of 22 technicians completed the full FF&E fit-out over eight weeks, from guestroom floors to lobby, dining halls and banquet facilities. A final pre-opening walkthrough with the hotel’s general manager and Wyndham’s quality assurance team signed off every space before the property’s inaugural opening.

    Result

Wyndham Baise Resort Hotel opened in 2020 and immediately established itself as the premier hospitality address in the Baise region — the city’s first internationally branded five-star property and its designated government reception hotel. Guest reviews consistently cite the river-view rooms, the lobby experience and the bathroom soaking tubs as the property’s standout physical elements. The hotel has maintained a rating above 4.8 on major Chinese travel platforms since opening, with furniture quality frequently mentioned as a key differentiator from other Baise properties.

For Zhobai, the project exemplifies our one-stop hotel furniture capability at scale: managing the design, manufacture, logistics and installation of a complete 301-key resort FF&E programme — delivered on schedule, to five-star specification, in a southwestern inland city — as a single, fully accountable supply chain partner.

  • Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island FF&E Project

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island FF&E Project

When Banyan Tree Group’s contemporary lifestyle brand Dhawa chose Weizhou Island — China’s southernmost volcanic island — as the setting for its newest resort, the design mandate was bold: bring together the raw energy of ancient lava landscapes, the rhythms of Guangxi’s seafaring Tanka culture, and the fresh optimism of a resort brand built for a younger generation of luxury travellers. The result, Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island, opened in early 2026 as the island’s first internationally branded luxury hotel — and Zhobai was proud to deliver the complete hotel furniture FF&E solution that brought this vision to life.

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island atrium lobby — hotel furniture by Zhobai

    Project Overview

Located on the western shore of Weizhou Island in Beihai, Guangxi, the resort sits just two minutes on foot from a pristine natural beach and three minutes by car from Xijiao Ferry Terminal. Volcano craters, coral reefs and open-sea whale-watching routes lie within a 20-minute drive. Spanning 236 guestrooms and suites — including 26 pool-access rooms, every one fitted with a private balcony — the property also features approximately 1,700 m² of meeting and event space, three food-and-beverage venues, an outdoor infinity pool facing the open sea, an 8lements Spa, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a children’s club.

Zhobai’s scope covered the full FF&E package across all guest-facing areas: concept co-development with the design team, custom manufacturing at our Guangdong workshops, factory quality control, container logistics to the island, and complete on-site installation and snagging.

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island outdoor swimming pool — resort overview

Design Vision: Where Volcano Meets the Sea

The architectural and interior design brief was built on three layered references: the volcanic basalt geology of Weizhou Island; the azure depths of the South China Sea; and the Tanka boat-dwelling heritage of the local fishing communities. Unlike the hushed neutrality of a conventional luxury hotel, Dhawa’s brand DNA demands spaces that feel energetic yet considered — tactile surfaces, youthful accent colours, and decorative motifs that tell a genuine local story.

For Zhobai’s design team, this translated into a precise material palette: natural solid wood in warm walnut and ash tones, hand-woven rattan panels, linen and cotton upholstery in ocean-inspired blues and sandy terracottas, and brushed brass hardware with a subtly oxidised finish — evocative of nautical fittings weathered by salt air. Zhobai’s in-house designers worked alongside the hotel’s interior architects from mood-board stage through to final sample sign-off.

Guestroom Furniture: Crafting the Signature Dhawa Stay

With four core room categories — Garden View, Premium Ocean View, Pool Access and Deluxe Suite — each requiring its own personality while maintaining a coherent brand voice, the guestroom programme was the heart of the project.

Garden View & Premium Ocean View Rooms (41 m²)

Spread across floors one to five, these 41-square-metre rooms had to feel generous and uncluttered. Zhobai specified a full-height rattan-wrapped wardrobe unit that doubles as a soft visual divider between the entry corridor and the sleeping zone. The king bed platform is crafted from solid ash with an integrated bedside shelf. The writing desk — a signature element in every Dhawa room — is a live-edge ash slab on a powder-coated steel frame, paired with a handwoven rattan-back chair in sand-coloured performance linen. Ocean-view rooms are differentiated by upholstery in a deeper coastal blue to frame the sea panorama beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island garden view guest room — furniture by Zhobai

Every guestroom opens onto a private balcony. Zhobai furnished each with a two-seat teak conversation set and a slatted side table, finished with a UV-resistant oil treatment that maintains the warm honey tone without guest maintenance.

Pool Access Rooms (41 m², Ground Floor)

The 26 pool-access rooms on the ground floor required furniture that transitions seamlessly between interior and outdoor terrace. Zhobai developed a coordinated teak outdoor set — a double sun lounger, a lava-stone composite side table, and two sling chairs — that speaks the same material language as the interior while withstanding the island’s humid subtropical climate. All interior furniture in these rooms carries a marine-grade waterproof treatment on exposed surfaces.

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island poolside leisure terrace — outdoor furniture by Zhobai

    Deluxe Suites (55 m²)

The suite programme required a clearly defined living zone separate from the sleeping area. Zhobai supplied a modular three-seat sofa in warm terracotta performance velvet, two barrel chairs in natural linen with hand-carved wood legs, and a ribbed walnut coffee table referencing volcanic basalt texture. A luggage bench with woven leather strapping and a hand-hammered brass mirror frame complete the suite living area.

Bathroom vanity areas received equal attention. Zhobai supplied a custom double-basin console in honed marble composite with solid brass leg detailing, a freestanding magnifying mirror with an integrated LED ring, and a teak bath mat rack — furnishings that elevate the bathroom experience from functional to ceremonial.

    Junior Luxury Rooms

Bridging the standard and suite categories, these rooms feature an expanded lounge corner — a single rattan accent chair with a loose linen cushion, a washi-shade floor lamp, and a smoked oak side table — creating a deliberate pause point where guests can sit away from the desk and take in the island view.

Each guestroom vanity and lounge area was treated as a cohesive composition. Zhobai produced a bespoke vanity stool in solid ash with a hand-stitched saddle-leather seat, paired with a floating walnut shelf — so that even a 41 m² room reads as a unified interior rather than a collection of catalogue pieces.

    Public Areas & Food-and-Beverage Furniture

    Lobby & Living Lounge

The arrival lobby is open-plan, flooded with natural light, and anchored by a custom semicircular banquette in deep ocean-green boucle. High-backed rattan screens partition the check-in counter from the lounge without closing off sightlines. Low occasional tables in smoked glass and brushed brass surround the seating island. Every upholstered piece is wrapped in Crypton-treated fabric — a practical choice for a beachfront resort where sandy feet are a daily reality.

    Restaurant Xi — All-Day Dining

The all-day dining venue serves a Chinese-Western buffet breakfast and an evening a la carte menu celebrating Beihai’s renowned seafood. Zhobai delivered four-top solid ash dining tables with removable inserts for group configuration, bistro-style upholstered side chairs in striped cotton, and curved booth banquettes along the perimeter wall creating semi-private dining alcoves.

    Fine Dining & Banquet Spaces

The fine dining hall and multifunctional banquet conference spaces required a more formal register. Zhobai supplied high-back chairs in champagne velvet with brass leg caps, round banquet tables in dark walnut veneer, and a custom bar-back unit in smoked mirror and brushed brass. The 1,700 m² event space was fitted with Zhobai’s stackable banquet chair range in a coordinated finish, ensuring visual consistency across all configurations.

    The Zhobai One-Stop Process

Delivering a complete FF&E package for a 236-key resort on a ferry-only island demanded rigorous planning from day one. Zhobai’s project timeline ran across four structured phases:

    1. Design Collaboration (Months 1-3): Zhobai’s design team worked alongside the hotel’s architects, producing FF&E schedules, material samples, and 3D visualisations for every room category and public area, reviewed against Dhawa’s brand standards.
    2. Custom Manufacturing (Months 4-9): All furniture was produced at Zhobai’s Guangdong workshops under ISO 9001-certified QC. Each batch underwent dimensional inspection, finish durability testing, and fire-retardancy certification per GB 17927. Upholstered pieces received Martindale abrasion testing for high-occupancy performance.
    3. Logistics & Island Delivery (Months 10-11): Zhobai consolidated 23 container loads into timed ferry crossings aligned with the hotel’s construction programme, avoiding holding charges and site congestion on the island.
    4. On-Site Installation & Snagging (Months 11-12): A Zhobai team of 18 technicians completed room-by-room fit-out over six weeks, followed by a joint pre-opening walkthrough with the hotel’s operations team.

    Sustainability & Quality Standards

All solid wood — ash, walnut and teak — carries FSC Chain of Custody certification. Rattan panels are sourced from PEFC-certified plantations in Fujian Province. Water-based lacquers and low-VOC adhesives were specified throughout the guestroom programme, supporting the property’s indoor air quality targets and Green Building Star rating ambitions.

    Result

Dhawa Beihai Weizhou Island opened in early 2026, marking a defining moment for leisure tourism on an island long regarded as one of China’s best-kept coastal secrets. As the first internationally branded luxury hotel on Weizhou Island, the property has drawn immediate attention for its design quality. Guest feedback has specifically highlighted the rattan craftsmanship, the balcony furniture experience, and the sense of “local character executed with international precision.”

For Zhobai, the project affirms our one-stop hotel furniture methodology: from the earliest design conversation to the final snagging walk, a single accountable partner managing every aspect of a complex FF&E programme. We are proud to have contributed to a resort redefining luxury coastal travel in South China.
